Can you take the headlight motor off without taking off the front bumper? I haven't looked at it yet so I don't know if you can, that is why I ask. I am thinking I will take it off and disassemble it myself but I don't know if I can take it off without removing the bumper. Can someone please let me know so that I don't have to figure it out on my own. Thanks. Matt

Yes you can remove the headlight door motor without removing the bumper. First, disconnect the torsion rod from the headlight doors. Disconnect the wires & the 3 bolts that hold it to the hood latch brace. Fish it out.

Thanks Brock, your knowledge is greatly appreciated. Hopefully I can free it up then and be able to open my headlight doors

Does the torsion rod just sit in the pockets or is it held in by a pin or something. Looking at it I am thinking that it just sits in the pocket but I want to make sure.

Once you get the clamp out of the way, the rod just sits in the pocket. You can test this by trying to separate them by hand.

That is why I asked, the rod is rusted into the pocket so it is going to take some force to get it out and I wanted to make sure that there was nothing else holding it in. Thanks Brock.

Might try dousing them with Liquid Wrench or S'OK or your choice for a day & reapply 24hrs later
