if you want any paint to stick to plastic you need to get a plastic cleaner, like RM's 901 or Duponts 2319. soak a rag in the cleaner, then wipe down the panel. then take some grey scotch brite, get it wet with the same cleaner and use it again. follow this up by another rag of plastic cleaner, but this time wipe it dry with a dry cloth. then paint it. it'll stick alot better. its just a pain in the on grills.

Bob, as we speak we are doing a 68 Charger Grille....pain in the ^%*#!
Moparguy is right and instead of spray paint....why not just buy you a pint of Dupont Argent Silver? you can get the light or dark, if you don't have a compressor & paint gun, you can buy the Preval paint sprayers for $5 which you can throw away when done.. Only bad thing with spray can paint, when you get it wet of dirty it spots, it wont come clean, constant touch up, you will spend more on spray paint just keeping it looking good..

If you notice the headlight rubber buckets I cleaned, painted and clearcoated them. I think they turned out pretty good. Notice the headlights are centered now on the passenger side.
