Surely we all have a few stories about the cars we have not bought. I have 2 that I remember too well. rewind to 1989/90 ... I had $1000 burning a hole in my pocket. Had to decide between a 70 Charger out of a junkyard (318 car) or a rust free 71 superbee that had a flat hood on it and 72 fenders. Both were priced at $900. The Bee also had a freshly rebuilt engine -440. Car ran/drove but had a bad spindle and spun wheel bearing. I choose the 70. which was not running and looked solid to my untrained eye. When i got it home, I decided to sandblast a few rust bubbles off of the rear 1/4`s. Turned out the back 1/2 of the car was 70% bondo/30% rust. 1993/94 A guy I barely knew call me asking me if I wanted to buy his 72 Rallye. Another 440 car. Without asking his price, I tell him that I cant afford it. I assumed he wanted 3-4k for it. About 6 months later, I go to another guys house to buy some parts...Lo and behold there is the 72 Rallye. He had bought it off the guy for $1000

Mine was a '68 Roadrunner 383 (not running) car in turquise for $600. around '88 or so. I had only some surface rust here and there. Later found out the car went to the crusher. #Brickwall# Another was a '68 V.I.P. Sport Fury (yes I like them) with a 383, buckets and a console, and again in turquise for $600. It ran but needed brakes and minor rust repair. And I could of bought a '78 Aspen Kit Car with the Petty decals, running and driving, very minor rust and very complete, for $1000.. But I turned it down to buy my first truck, a '75 Power wagon for $500.
