I thought about being a smart a**, and start a poll asking "To A/C or not to A/C" but decided not to, because I will be, so.... But here's my question, being a '72 SE with a non-original 383, and non A/C everything else on the motor.... I want to put A/C back on the car since it originaly had it. Here's the somewhat drawbacks.... Instead of the black hoses, I'd like to get the A/C hoses with the braided hose look, and instead of the massive factory A/C unit, I'm thinking of running the Sanden A/C unit with R134-A setup. Yeah I know, this looks nothing like original, but heck, the motor isn't original, and it's probably not gonna sound that way either. Ok, so the question, in your opinion, what would be my best bet to look into company wise? I had looked into a company or two a little while back with those "Direct Fit" systems saying that they need no customizing to get them to fit, basicaly a direct bolt in kind of thing. But I'd like to upgrade to the prementioned items of intrest, so, any ideas?

Nothing wrong with running a newer, modern ac system, especially if you don't care about being orginal. Most have to admit that those big arse ac compessors robbed hp pretty good. Check with these guys: www.classicautoair.com/ . They may have a setup for you. Talk to them and see what they can do for you. I plan on talking to them when the time comes. I will also probably move the ac compressor down below the alternator.

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a look, and see what they have. No problem, the only other one I know of is Vintage Air ( www.vintageair.com/ ), but it appears they don't have anything car specific except for e-bodies. I'm not really impressed with them. Now I have seen a setup for Classic and it looks really nice. Charger1973 saw the same one on a Challenger out in Omaha.

Yeah I figured I had posted at DC.com. I've been stopping off at someone elses house and they've been letting me use there computer for a little bit. It's a nice computer and all, but it's got dial up , needless to say, I get a bit #Brickwall# with this internet connection speed, but I can't complain too much, nothing out of pocket for me, so...
