I just got back from the Mopar Nationals tonight. It was a long drive from Ohio to Georgia, took me 9 hours. But the show wasn't as big as I remembered it the last time I went when it was the Salute to the Charger. But I did find a few things I needed and saw a few 71-74 Chargers. I was able to find not only the correct Parchment steering wheel, but the entire column already painted original Parchment. It is a column shift too, like I need. The wiring connectors have been cut. I don't want to even take the column apart because it's so nice. I just need to redo the coupling and then I could put it back in. I have some extra columns with wiring from Tom I think 72s and a 74. I also have the console shift column I had originally. Should I just splice the connectors on or do I need to swap it all out? What all is hooked up to the steering column wiring?

If you do the splice thing, I`d advise soldering the wires that go to the ignition switch. As bad as Mopar electrical systems already are, you don`t want any more high resistance connections. The smaller ones to the hazard and turn switch probably could be butt connected but soldering and shrink wrapping them would look better.

This sounds like one of those, do you want to do this the "easy way" or the ever so popular "hard, but right way" kind of deals,

you can do the electrical stuff swap without undo the column, just the upper collar and underdash bracket ( and plastic cover ). I NEVER would splice unless there is no another way. Electrical is safer with complete wiring from end to end.
Another stuff you need to remove is the wheel lock just for the ignition switch, but piece of cake. Anyway if you want to keep your original cilinder and key, would need to undo the upper collar
