Hey guys. I don't have access to my Charger right now so I cannot look at it. It's a base model 1971 Charger with a 318 engine. I need to order a carb rebuild kit. I see kits for Carter and Rochester carbs when I do a part lookup. Any idea which carb it came with from the factory?
Thanks, Patrick

Hey Patrick: I don't know about a '71....someone had already swapped in a 4 bbl in my '72 318, but I DO have a '75 360 with a 2bbl... If I think about it tomorrow while I'm "out back", I'll take a gander at it and see what 2bbl is on that puppy. If nothing else, just for FYI porpoises. Jer.

Thanks for the reply. I looked up the carb rebuild kit at AutoZone and it's not on the shelf so I cannot look into it, and the description does not state whether it includes a new accelerator pump or not. Anyone know if these are included in the kits or have to be bought separately?

Usually a new accelerator pump is included with a rebuild kit, at least all the ones I've used have...

Okay. Next question. I took the carb off and it had 2 studs/nuts in the front and 2 bolts in the rear holding it on the intake manifold. Is this normal or should it be all 4 studs + nuts?
Thanks, Patrick

This is pretty common. I'm not sure of the WHY if there is a why to this setup but you see it often with older carberated vehicles.
