On my '72 I'm wanting to try and take the interior back to factory as close as possible. So yes, as you all probably know, the car will stay a triple black. Anyway, I know the front buckets need to be upholstered amoung possible other things (it's one of those, hope for the best, but expect the worse kind of things), and, at first, thought the back seat was fine and didn't need to even touch it. I was unfortanatly wrong. At the top of the read bench under the window, the stitching is coming apart in an area, and if it's doing that there, then soon enough, it's gonna do that in other areas, so, might as well take care of the rear seat to... The carpet and headliners are most certainly gonna get repalced (headliner is coming down, and the carpet is faded and in a couple of areas is worn through). Here's my main problem, as you all know, again, this is an SE Brougham car with power windows. Now, I don't the the PW's effect the upper door panels, unlike the lower panels, but I need to replace or somehow have my current ones repaired because they are not in the best of shape, but not all that bad either, but if I take it to a car show, then.... I'm gonna pull the whole gauge cluster and want to ahve it gone through, convert the clock to quartz, and repair the gauge assembly on the far right (I think it's th oil/ammeter gauge?), the others appear to be in good condition, so I figure just some freshening up will bring them back up. Plus while it's out will make for easy harness replacement behind it.... There's a few other things, but I'm trying to focus on the soft trim pieces, and the main question is, who might I need to look into for these things. So far I've looked at Year One $$$$$+TAXES, The Paddock, and Legendary Auto Interior. #Brickwall#

You need to change your screen name to Deep Pockets . You are talking some serious money. I guess you really want a show car . I am fortunate enough to live close to Carlisle for the Chrysler events and wait and save my money and make deals there . Anyway, take your time and the pieces you need will show up when you least expect it. Don't be like me, when the deals show up there ain't no money .

I hear ya on that one Bob. I'm not exactly planning on turn it into a really nice show car, atleast, not right now..... But as I go, once it's running well and all, I do plan on showing it off, anyone who's been to the Moultrie car show in Ga, knows why I'm not worried about the way it looks in the mean time, I can show it off as a "work in progress" kind of thing. Even with surface rust, IMO it looks better than some of the cars they have down there, but I can't stand a chance against the Hemi cars they have down there... ;D But anyway, the seats, atleast the fronts, I want to go ahead and recover, and since they'll be out, take care of that carpet, and headliner.... The rear seat can hold off right now b/c the only thing right now is where the seam is starting to split, nothing major for now, but eventualy it will get there. Will it be expensive, unfortanatly yep. But, aint they worth it? I'm like a lot of people, not a whole lot of money to work with, but I'm looking at it as, I don't care how much it costs, I want, most of, it right. The part that's not included in the most is under the hood, adn the wheels/tires. The rest, I'm not looking to do much custom work to, I'm even gonna see if I can fix the factory radio and reuse it, it's the AM/FM, that 8 track player that had been added, is no longer in the car, so it's no longer in the way of anything in the car. It's a nice car, as far as I know, the floors are solid, I have no reason to think other wise, they feel and sound solid when I put my big ol' feet down (size 16 shoe).... My '69 needed a lot of work, but I started on drivetrain, and nothing else.... When it sold, I don't know what kind of power it was pushing, but it was there all the way, and the tran's was there begging for more, lol . I miss that car, but it needed a lot of body work IMO to be a show car. The previous owner went and put bondo, and quite a bit of it, on/in the car. I found out after I sold the car that the gas tank had a dang hole in the top of it, I figured it did, but never checked.... Poor decsion on my part, but heck, I was driving the car and never got a chance to check it, maybe I should have made the time . Anyway, the guy who bought it, and has now sold it to make time for the '69 R/T SE that he also bought from me.... He replaced the tank, converted to front disc brakes, and put on 15" wheels with a different wheel rather than the 14" Keystones that were on it. Anyway, it's a project that's gonna take some time, and I'm making a bunch of sacrifices for the car, like eating out rather than home... . It's gonna be nice once it's done. I just hope I don't loose sight of that .
