I absolutely cannot get this headliner in. I'm tired of messing with it. I'm going to call someone to help put it in, so that I can get all my panels put back in and clear up some space. I think I know a couple of interior shops with mobile headliner service. But I wanna know what is a reasonable cost for putting one in like this on my 73? Because I've never had a headliner done on any car.

Unbeilievabily I was able to get the bows in and up and secured after how simple I figured the metal listing wires held the back up. I've got it stretched and hooked over the nails on the front window area. So then I stopped for awhile. There appears to be a lot extra on the back window area. But with the bows in right the healiner is flush with the roof so everything is on right. Is it common to have a lot of extra on the back. It looks to be a challenge to get it to hook on the back window. After you get the bows in and the headliner up the Mopar Muscle issue says to put the glue on the backside of the headliner. But how am I suppose to get the glue in the middle of the headliner without removing it again?

I made it by myself, just that I can not explain it!!! sorry. I'll try.
Bows looms cut at desired point to let the bow left the loom and clip on roof frame hole. where to cut ? more to center will give you more curved end... more outer, will give you a straight and violent cut up to molding roofline
Needs to be stretched everywhere. Be sure the last bow braces are hooked between roof frame and bow
I didn't glued at any point, just in front because some nails are broken. At sides I used double retainers clips because I had donor parts car where I get more retainters clips. I think mag states glue on back side just on sides where clips are.
and needs lots of patiente.

Ok I've got it up as good as I can get. I glued on the rear window area, the rear sail panel, windshield, and along roof rails. Is the excess headliner material suppose to fold over the roof rail? Now I'm to another hard point. I have to start trimming away. What should I trim first? So far it's looking pretty good, not perfect but it looks good. Should I cut the sides first, the rear window, or windshield area? In the 73 body manual it states do not put any headliner on the windshield posts. That looks like the hardest area to trim. Could I bolt on all the metal trim and them trim the excess?

the sides slightly folds over the area where headliner molding goes.
front and rear windshield, I made just right at the glass starts, maybe one milimeter less.
A pillars do have also nails to headliner BTW
theorically you wouldn't need to use glue, unless nails are missed.

I've got it all nicely trimmed. I'm awaiting a few of the metal trim parts I had to respray. I've located the belt holders, the mirror, and sun visor holes. I'm scared I'll miss the hole for the dome light. I can't feel the hole for the coat hooks either. Eventually I will find the coat hook holes. But I'm worried I might mess up the dome light holes. I feel where the wires are. But they may have gotten pushed back. Will there be screw holes I can feel for the dome light?

Ah, the dome light. After about an hour I gave up. I still don't have it installed. It's been 3 or 4 years now. S\I'm glad everyhting came together for you. It took me 4 hours to install mine in the 74.

Well I did it and it didn't work out too good. I tried to locate it for about 30 minutes feeling around. I found the wire traced it down and slit about an inch down and was able to get the wire out. Then I put up the dome light to see if it looked about right and it did, so I slit a little more down the front and still couldn't find the holes, so then I cut back some of the insulation and shined a light up and saw the holes were back further so I had to turn the dome light around bolt it backwards and I've got about a 1/4 inch of torn headliner showing and a hint of the wiring. I was able to patch it up by gluing an old piece under it, but you can still tell it's cut. It doesn't look horrible to me, and not noticeable unless you're looking for it. So I'll be happy with it for a driver. The insulation killed me, it's what is making one area look loose, because I used general purpose glue to hold the insulation up. I can probably fix it, but not until it looks bad to me. I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out especially how it looks after getting all the trim back on. All I'll have to do now is put the carpet in and get the seats redone and interior is fully finished. Carpet will be coming next month. Don't know what to do about seats. I wanna keep the original pattern.
