if this thread is better suited for another section, please feel free to move it. Am putting it here because the parts in question are fuel system related, but more a question of seller reputation in the community here.
Low and behold, my fuel tank is all kinds of goobered up from the car sitting before i bought it. This has now re-goobered my carb, so another cleaning is in order for it. I have read the thread on the 71-73 tanks fitting in the 74 charger with no problems, as long as 74 straps are used.
now, for the question. Has anyone bought from this seller named rocpar on ebay before? he has 99.8% positive feedback, so he must be doing something right. prices are really good for what i am wanting to buy. But, given the contempt some people here have for "fleebay", would like some advice on how the guy stacks up. I will pay the slightly higher prices for known better quality parts, but if i can save a few $$$ then i would like to do that......as we all know, more money saved is more money we can spend on the car as a whole to play.....lol.
options are as follows:
hope seafoam alone will cure issue without dropping tank......not gonna happen, i need to see inside of tank.
drop tank, lose the gas in it, and clean it to best of my ability.....provided it is not a total rust out.
take tank to get boiled out and re-coated(can only be re-coated in warmer weather) starting at $95...and can get more expensive really quick.
find that tank is a total loss, and buy a new one from this guy for $185US, and it has a new filler grommet that i need anyway. cheapest i have seen so far is $220US elsewhere(without the grommet).
If nobody has bought from him, i may take the plunge and try it out....he does have a good feedback rating. and he has other items i need, like turn signal lenses(new), also cheaper than anywhere else.....and free shipping on everything so far. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks guys. #DriveBurnout# #DriveBurnout#
