Hi all - as a rather new owner of a 1972 Charger 400 SE Brougham I've been more than pleased to find a lot of useful information about the car on this site. Just wanted to thank you for all great informative posts! The car I have has spent most of its life in and around Manteca CA but was bought and shipped to Finland few years ago. I've had it since Aug 2009. Attached a picture of the car, and the decoded fender tag info.

Hi and welcome to the forum!!
I THINK I saw that car at a car show in Pleasanton, CA, not very far from Manteca, a few years back.
How long has it been since the car was in Manteca, do you know?
Or anything else about it's history?
How long have you had it, and HOW IN THE WORLD did you afford to have it shipped to Finland?
It IS truly a good looking ride!

Hi Jer, to my knowledge the vehicle has basically spent its whole life within one family. I've spoken briefly with the previous owner over the phone the other night, he sold it less than two years ago to a Finnish vintage car dealer who buys old cars from the US, shipping them to Finland and then selling here. According to the customs documents I've got the car arrived here early January 2009. So luckily I didn't have to worry about the shipping No major modifications have ever been done to the car, apart from 1st owner replacing the original carburetor with a Holley. The previous owner replaced the badly worn out vinyl roof as well as the cloth interior, pretty nicely I have to say. The body is in a surprisingly good condition all in all, however there are few rust holes in the back. The paint is faded and worn out a bit - would be nice to have the original bright "top " color back in few years time...

I'm almost positive it's the same car...I emailed the pic to my cousin in Hollister (near Manteca, near Pleasanton) CA, (who attended the Car Show--Good Guys?--with me, and he pretty much agrees... If it's NOT the same car, it's Mama had Twins!! You know how we aficionados are.....3rd Gens remain in the brain cells longer than phone numbers!!

Small world, eh? True, that's a pretty impressive memory for cars you have!

Quote from Clark Gable: "I've seen a million girls in my lifetime....fortunately I only remember the beautiful ones."A good memory is a curse: It makes it impossible NOT to buy your Bride a Birthday gift and card, an Anniversary gift and card, a Mother's Day gift and card, or heck, I can't even "forget" to take out the trash... On the other hand, I remember conversations verbatim (word for word), so I don't need a tape recorder to prove that I'm always right in our "domestic discussions".
