Having to replace the tank on my '74. Found a few wet spots plus car was running rough. Thought that was from the original carburetor. H2O oh no. There was a previous leak repair, probably decades ago that gave up. Found water in the tank along with a lot of scale and rust. Here is the shiny new tank. Looks dirty in the pics but it is really like a mirror. shiny gone with Eastwoods tank tone paint for oem look

Yeah made in Canada, I can't even buy one here apparently they only ship to the US and not within Canada. Though I can get one shipped to me for $205. Maybe I'll just clean mine up, not sure what to do with the dents though. **Edit I can buy it through Cross Canada Parts for $576.88.

What about your sending unit are you using the original or did you buy a new one? What about your tank straps? By the way, tank looks nice.

Since the original sending unit works, I plan on using it after a little clean up. Read too many problems with the aftermarket units. Hope to keep mine. Straps look good so I'll keep them for now. You might want to check with this guy on shipping to Canada. Here is a link to a tank, don't know if its the correct one for your car. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200531682635&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Thanks for the link. Yes I've read about the issues with the aftermarket sending units, mine is good also same with the straps. Keep us posted as you continue.

I hate when parts cost more in Canada, especially when they are made in Canada. They should be readily available and cheaper. CDN72SE, I guess you will have to go to the states for a shopping trip. Have you asked at Parts Source, they often order in parts you wouldn't think they could get. But then again, probably would cost a small fortune.
