Here's two pics, one with the clear valley tray, and the other with the top end some what installed.... This motor is clean.... Someone has gone through the motor before I got it because there's no carbon buildup in the cylinders, the water jackets are very clean, had what looked like FelPro blue heads gaskets, connecting rods are stamped, he lifters still have the circles visable so they have no wear, timing chain was still in great shape, ect... BTW, this is how everything looked when I pulled the heads before I started cleaning anything up, so.... #PopCorn#

Thats great! Lots of work cleaning it all back up for a fresh build. Not sure what I will find when I pop my 440 open. It does a lot of popping now when cold, not sure what to think. Doesnt matter, she is getting torn down. Sure wish I was closer to come help and learn some stuff. I will be starting my stuff late January. I will start a thread on it when I get there. Busy packing stuff for the move.

Bad thing is, I went ahead and put all this stuff on here b/c a bunch of presents started showing up in my "storage" closet so something had to go, well, it ended up being these engine parts that went on the motor . Now I got a set of 451 heads, a '69 4bbl intake, factory valve covers sitting around.... Oh the joy...

Lookin good & FYI: I have room in my closet for the aluminum heads, intake etc. I did too, and will again after the season, but they are on the motor now so.... Once I get everything taken care of, then I'll get to play the old game of will the air cleaner clear or not.... I just might and up having to go with that 1/2" spacer and do something about the 1" that's on there now... Though the air filter isn't pictured, it's a K&N X-stream 14"x3" with drop base.... It clears right now but... I'm not done either so......

You running a Rallye hood? Might have a little more room under that. I think I may have a little clearance issue too...may fit under the hood, never know! lol

Well it would seem life's saga continues... I went back out putsing around with it a little more, and it would seem I now get to modify the bottom edge of the intake to get it to quit hitting my choice in a valley tray plate.... Joy, looks like I get to either pay a machine shop to mill the intake, or I get to take a grinder to it.... I'd really rather not do it because a new intake isn't cheap, esp an Indy dual plane with max wedge ports... Guess I'll chance my recent luck, and hope for the best.... This valley tray cover is actually a bit higher than a factory one, factory, as I'm sure yall know, is a "bath tub" therefor counter sunk.... This one is slightly raised so.... In this case, I'd recommend passing one of these valley tray covers up.... Though, it does look good
