Hi all--
I read the statement about bumper interchangeability in the initial board post, but I think I need a little more clarification.
I have a set of '72 bumpers that I want to fit to my '73 SE. Both the bumpers on my '73 are significantly dented and really no good to me. The front '72 bumper came with the hideaway headlight set, and I'd really like to use it. (I'm not concerned about numbers-matching or being particulary accurate to the year.)
If I understand the initial board post correctly, I need all the bumper bracketry from the '72 to put on my '73 to make the bumpers fit.
Will this eliminate the need for the rubber bumper fillers?
Are front contours of the fenders and hood the same from '72 to '73, and it's just the bracketry that makes the bumpers fit differently?
Thanks in advance! Dave

No....quite on the contrary. On the front, the easiest thing to do is elongate the frame mounting holes in your 73 brackets, so you can move the bumper and brackets backwards a bit, thereby eliminating the "need" for the fillers.
On the rear...just plug in the 72 bumper with its original brackets. That will tuck in the bumper and eliminate the need for the fillers.
