Are they interchangeable? What are the differences if any? I need one for my 74 and all I seem to run into are ones for a 72.
Thanks

Ran into similar issues with my 73, late production vs early production. Will they all work?

I don't think they are any different. just in case 74 catalog shows PNs 3695442 for right and 3695453 for left PN can be diff though, due the late PN the 74 catalog has ( 36xxxxx), But I don't think really something diff

71-72 is 3695440 R 3548565 L up to date 10/1972
after 10/72 3695440 R 3695453 L
and 1974 3695442 R 3695453 L
It has to do with safety regulations that mandated how the door opens when locked. Notice how some open from the inside even if it is locked and some don't. I believe that was the change.
However the question remains will they ALL work?

well.. if we are talking about AFTER 10/72 and then we have 74s... they will fit and work FOR SURE. 71/72 doors frames never changed, then 73/74s either. We have a PN change in middle of a production already running without a change on the piece where it mounts
I know on my 74 I can open the door from inside no matter if locked. My 74 catalogs shows to the left side being named OVERRIDE, maybe thats the function to open it no matter if locked.
Maybe THATS the only difference, but not on fitment. If you don't care that function and your one is damaged, I'd say just go with it with confidence
