One thing leads to another. I couldn't bring myself to put back those parts that you never see with surface rust on them. So I broke out that many years old can of POR- 15. The the prep work before painting and the small spurts of time I find to work on the car, has my car laid up on jack stands. That's ok, I like the feeling of putting things back better than the way they came out. The tank was spray painted.
Oops. The picture did not show up.

I will even use a little wire wheel on my dremel to get the rust off screw threads and heads. I'll either paint them with clear or a color depending on the application. I found that with my previous Antiqu/classic it begins to add up to an improved overall appearance. I recently changed my water valve. While I had it off I reconditioned the bolts and bracket. I also removed the horns in order to have better access to the lower lines. I will be re doing those too. This make every project time consuming. I look at it as a future investment. When I eventually drop an engines in it, I won't be so overwhelmed by all those rusty, worn, chipped items that I will be compelled to re do.
