Attachment DeletedI had these made by a local engraving shop. They engraved the SE into a small circle of brushed aluminum looking material and made it to perfectly fit in the center of my magnum center caps. I started out buying junk emblems to rob the centers out of but they were usually damaged in some way. I have a extra set available if anybody wants to purchase one.

Well, at the suggestion of IDriveMopar over at FBBO, I spent the better part of the day reinstalling the thermostat for my CCA A/C. For those that did not follow, CCA supplies an aftermarket thermostat that really should be installed in the heater box on the evaporator. If they'd have told me that I would have, since the box was out of the car. But they suggest you wrap a sensor end around the line on the opposite side of the firewall and when it starts to freeze, the t/stat (in theory) will kick off the compressor thus keeping the system from slowing down. But it doesn't work because the lines are basically above the exhaust manifold. so their solution is to wrap them with this black goo. But the thermostat is still in the engine compartment and still won't kick off. So IDriveMopar moved his per this thread: www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?95064-A-C-suggestions-keep-OEM-setup-or-go-classic&highlight=Classic+Auto+Airand now that the car season is over, I did the same. It's now in the cowl/vent on the opposite side of the firewall. It is tough working in these areas because it seems as no matter how hard you try, you always move or touch something that you shouldn't. But with patience, I got it done today and worst case, the A/C works the same and I killed an afternoon. I'll let everyone know in the spring I guess.

Somehow i convinced my wife that it looks like a modern piece of art in the corner of the family room. It should cure a little quicker indoors.

Somehow i convinced my wife that it looks like a modern piece of art in the corner of the family room. It should cure a little quicker indoors. Oh, I'll bet she loves that! As for the flat finish, a lot of people would probably tell you it's not "right". But you know what? I've always thought that if you could go back to 1971, 1972, you find that "semi-gloss" had many definitions, which varied from component supplier to component supplier. In other words, having every "semi-gloss" part under the hood refinished with the same paint, all matching....that's probably not "right" either. It's refinished, saved from further corrosion, and uniform in finish. I say it's a great improvement!
