That POR-15 sure made a huge difference!!
I did manage to roll out the 66 and wash it, and put the blue 440 car up on stands to get it off the tires (in the driveway).
Not getting anything done on the engine pull until Monday, and I have to go to Vegas again tomorrow anyway, so I'll probably hang out in the garage and start stripping the black SE down for it's engine pull for awhile tonight.
I know all of you youngsters are tired and probably in bed by now (10:26 Pacific time), but I recharged my batteries, and after seeing the pics up above, my motivation is now recharged as well!!
And that's why I love this site!! #2Thumbs# #ImNotWorthy# #DancingBanana# #DancingBanana#

I can relate to that GrnGo! Except for the fact that it wasn't my wife getting me to cut down 4 large trees, start moving them to my woods in preparation for a gazebo & to make way for a widenned driveway with sidewalk to a rear patio. It's all by hand too; so, I have a loooong way to go. As for the start alot of projects & not getting to finish them up part: Are you, by chance, Left Handed? I am & was told a long time ago that part of the problem is that we envision the end result so well that we loose interest & move on. I plead the 5th myself: Like you, I stay too busy on stuff that has to be done. The stuff I wanna do is merely for pleasure

I plead the 5th myself: Like you, I stay too busy on stuff that has to be done. The stuff I wanna do is merely for pleasure I'm not left handed, but that's me in spades. My work bench is covered in jobs, projects, hobbies. Not to mention 4 old cars, and a camper that needs work. The Charger in particular is pretty completely disassembled and has begun going back together (patch panels, etc). But there's a LONG way to go, and I ran out of steam (and space) to work on it the first go around. So that brings us to the latest project; building a new garage so I have a place to work on stuff again.

today cleaned axle housing, mounted inner seals, painted and although still need to get longer U bolts because I'm lowering with 1"spacer block, already is on car.
from the 3 rear assemblies I have, this was some deep rusted on some points, but the best on the area were bearing race fits. the other two are some noticeable damaged. the original mounted on my car was perfect on exterior, but interior is more important soooo...
some of the rust dents are on interior, close to the are where axle bearing sit, but still in that way, did look better than the other two.
I'm still waiting fro my SG carrier to complete the assembly ( 1 month hearing from shipper probably THIS WEEK to be delivered and still nothing).
Axles are ready to mount.
will try tomorrow to drop the gas tank AGAIN and will try yo make by myself fix a leak. Got a small hand torch and tain used to fix radiators to make by myself.
need the car riding before 24 this month, so will be ready to mount Open differential again, if still don't get the 14 cubic feet box with lot of stuff ( car and home related ).
You know what is frustrating ? SG carrier is what got hold me from assembly my car since december, and after 6 months get it joined with parts I already have since december!!!!!

I can relate to the frustration Nacho. I've been waiting on my wheels since February.
I hope you fill your tank with soapy water before welding on it.

yeah don't worry. I have done the cleaning of my tank half dozen of times to take it up to radiator shop and fix leaks.
I was to get 3 months ago my stuff, but since president kick off to the taxes manager, all the work at customhouse was stopped untill "reorganizate" everything... yeah, reorganizate the corruption.

Well, as many of you know, my '72 Rallye is waiting patiently back home in Illinois, while I prepare a new home for it here. While the new shop is far from done, it is weather tight, and largely finished on the exterior (I still have some lighting and landscaping work to do). My priorities would normally be to get the interior done next (electric, insulation, drywall, etc.), but sometimes you have to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves. About a month ago a friend of mine offered to sell me his Auto Lifters 4 post lift (my new garage was specifically built with a 4 post list in mind) and air compressor for prices which saved me HUGE sums of money. They are sort of in the way right now, but I had to get them while I could. So I've spent the last week rounding up the people and equipment to move the lift this weekend. While getting everything pulled together in short notice was "exciting", the move itself went off without a hitch, thanks in large part to some very helpful friends. It's now resting comfortably in my garage on top of a tarp and some storage pallets. #DancingBanana# Here it is, just prior to disassembly.

Hooked up the wires for the power windows, got the stereo working, partially attached the steering column, and wondered how or where to hook up the power wire for the console light. This week its finish the steering column installation and console light. Then dig into something like test all the new hookups. (73 SE under construction)
