well last saturday sturga came by to get the a/c stuff I had for his car while we were out there talking he notice that the rear of the car looked some what low. this seem kind of strang giving the fact that the engine is out and the springs were replaced last june. well we gave her a good look and the srings are completely flatened a matter of fact they are bowed the wrong way and there is a little bend on the frt segments from me launching the car hard. looks like I'm going to need new spring . so lesson learned buy real mopar springs. I bought those springs from a shop locally that specalizes in spings, rear ends and drive lines but they do mostly truck and heavy equipment and do not specailize in mopars. my thought is that they may have sold me spring for a second gen or were for a much lighter car than mine. good thing we noticed this problem before the 528 goes in I can't emagine what it would have done to those already to weak springs. any suggestion on spring I have the old fact springs have them rearked or buy new ,or have a set custom made. also do they make super stock springs for 3rd gens I used them in my coronet and have them in my duster. car is going to need hight for tire clearance and to keep the 8qt oil pan from hitting every time I go over a bump I got Super Stock springs for my 71 Super Bee from Mancini Racing. I would suggest traction bars [Cal-Trac] or an adjustable pinion snubber, if you don't already have them. I prefer traction bars and an air shock on the right side as the car lifts more evenly on launch instead of yanking the left tire and squirming around.

After taking the Charger out of the barn last Wed, it was 65 degrees, I spent Saturday brushing off 9 1/2 inches of snow and an inch coating or ice. Spring?

I sat smoking a pack of cigarettes and showing off the parts for the motor that is being built. Out of money, no time, and waiting....but I did manage to scrape together a Lunatti Voodoo cam, double roller chain set, complete 400 from a 73 motor home, 2 aluminum intakes, chrome moly pushrods, 3 inch full exhaust, ceramic coated headers, and an Edelbrock thermoquad for starters. Now all I need is the full rotating assembly from 440 source, heads, and full steel rollers, not to mention the tranny to handle it. I am building bulletproof as much as possible. Dependability at over 600hp would make me happy. Pictures will start filtering in as I make enough room around the project to actually take a good pic.

Lifted the cover, and asked myself "WHAT AM I GETTING INTO HERE!?!?!?!" Then covered it back up wondering when it'll get above 60 degrees so I can work on it in a t-shirt.

Ok this is a shorter reply to your Post 73charger528...I had been writing a long reply and my Laptop battery died....Hate when that happens POR 15 is a great product...but It is highly sensitive to UV and will fade if exposed to sunlight Cannot be top coated with any other product ...UNLESS you apply another POR 15 intermediate product that will adhere the two different proucts together...so you have to spend another $40 or so if you want to body color the engine bay..OR IT WILL PEEL OFF IN TIME And allot of restoration shops will not use Por 15 because if you ever need to restore the car or an area again it is extremely hard to sandblastoff and after a short period of time you cannot recoat it over itself as it will not adhere and will peel... It is a great product but must be used within its limits.........so the good news is you can buy the intermediate product and repaint the engine bay and then epoxy and then body color it Hope this helps... And your engine Bay looks better already!
