Just got finished buying a clutch fan and pricing the gas tank/sending unit and exhaust for 71. I feel like I'm being dragged across the coals for a 2 1/4" setup with Thrush turbos for $500-600. Does anyone know of a decent exhaust shop in Houston that isn't so proud of their Chinese made exhaust pipe and $30 turbos? I would hate to think it takes me 20 hours of my work to pay for something that won't take them 3 hours of their time and $150 in parts. Am I being unreasonable, or have I just outgrown the times when exhaust used to cost $350-400 tops for a standard dual system?

And I just made the decision to put mine up for sell . I guess sometimes when the wife doesn't like it and the right opportunity presents itself, you gotta bite the bullet. I'll still be putting in the new gas tank and sending unit on Monday. It isn't gone yet and I'm sure the new owner will appreciate being able to drive in down the road without the intoxicating fumes of an open 5 gallon gas can in the passenger side floor board

Removed brakes master cilinder... found it was wet on back, so decided to replace ( I already tried replacing seals sometime ago ). Replaced brakes master cilinder. When trying to bleed found a leak at safety dist block switch ( wasn't before ). Found it was some loosen then removed to check and found THE DIST BLOCK IS NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINAL ONE INSIDE!!! Original is push button inside, and this one does look works more like earliers with a fixed stud. I replaced about two years ago with this unit from same vendor: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/65-72-MOPAR-PROPORTIONING-VALVE_W0QQitemZ320150656998QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item4a8a7757e6&_trksid=p4506.m20.l1116tighten it and bleed. light is ocasionally turning on, but not like before. Was getting better for a while I was driving. Maybe still some air in the system that with all the driving shake is getting up to master cilnder and then bowls, to get bleed like gravity. ( I hope )

Let me see:
1-rebuilt steering coupler 2-put in rebuilt steering gearbox 3-put on new pitman arm(I put a '73 gearbox in the '71. Pitman is easier to find and cheaper) 4-put on new idler arm 5-finally dropped the motor in the car. Wahooooooo!!!! 6-sandblasted the battery tray, tray support bracket, alternator bracket 7-cleaned up the windshield wiper motor 8-painted all those parts 9-ordered up some March pulleys and other misc. parts 10-bought a new alternator
I am hoping to at least hear the engine run by this weekend. It is my daughters birthday so I am not sure that will happen, but I am gonna try like heck.
