I am currently in the process of making a custom grille. I wanna see that Custom grill.....what are you doing/planning......I will make one someday that has a cross between a 71 and 70 charger setup.....I am not crazy about the 3rd Gen standard grill......and the hideaways need that center portion of the bumper removed...In my opinion! I would also like to know what your plans are. My '71 has hideaways and I've been SERIOUSLY considering removing the center chrome divider section on mine to get that '70 look as well. The only thing keeping me from jumping right in is the fabrication difficulties.

If you hadn't told me, I would have thought Dodge built it that way. Nice.....are you going to paint the other woodgrain section in your dash Aluminum to? Not sure yet. I've gotta take the whole dash out to get it off and paint if properly. After I put my gauges back in, it wasn't sitting flush around the edges with the dash because the metal gauge pod was bent. That's why I was reluctant to post some close-up pics. I think the only way I'm gonna get it right is to take the whole thing off and do over and keep tweeking till its perfect. Then remount the whole thing as one assembly. You know how it is, the more you look at something not ligned up right the more you think you can get it straight. Kinda hard to not look at the dash so I guess one day the whole thing will come off and get a makeover. Right now I just want to drive it again.

Installed new rear springs in our '71 SE. I also relocated the hidden headlight decal to the correct location, and installed the bracket that holds the wiring loom to the brake booster. It was missing from our car.

Replaced the starter today. Forgot how heavy a starter was. I need a lift in my garage!!!! Fried the other one, completely my fault, grounded it. After putting in a complete bumper to bumper wiring harness with no screw ups and everything working right I made the bonehead move of not disconnecting the nagative battery cable. Unhooked the wires from the starter relay to slip on some split loom to make the engine bay look pretty. After disconnecting, set the wires down to grab the loom and you know what happened next.

Hi, This got mixed up in another thread and it was suggested I post it here Rear shot, 72 rear bumper brackets with 73 marker lights and note the rear valance. I closed off the bracket holes and just left the exhaust ports Site shot, Note the bumbers are pulld in and I have the 71 flush marker lights installed in the front in this pic From the front, Note the hideaways and you can see the 71 marker here too. The bumper is in mock up so its not adjusted. Headliner went in last night, 3 layers of sound proofing,

I am envious. Just drove mine around the block for the first time in two years. Time goes by too fast.
