Finally got the motor running in the car, Exhaust, transmission etc is all hooked up and no leaks! A/C is working and functions, trouble is it is way too cold to fully charge the system.
It is a great relief to be able to run the engine and not have to keep turn it over by hand. The Flow Masters 50 sound nice, not loud. You can tell it has attuitde behind them. The H pipes make sure if I lose a drive shaft it is going have to side out the back. I Tried a Mancini drive shaft loop but it would not fit. Be nice if theguy that has my AM/FM radios could get one fixed so I could get the dash installed.

Last night replaced just the damaged bearing temporally with an old one I had around. Next week will replace all 4 and upgrade the rest of suspension at the time. Replaced the coil with a new Blaster 2 Coil and also noticed the - lead wire some weak close to terminal so cut and replace the terminal... hard to start the first time, dunno why. Moved and shaked every plug and still didn't start, untill suddenly started up! No fails yet since that last night. I have still the old ECU and Coil ( aso blaster 2 with some dents ) just in case those weren't the fail. Still experimenting around. The fact is still there is something weird on my ignition. next step should it be the dist pick up coil ? I don't trust on new replacement pieces so if needed will mount my OLD DISTRIBUTOR pickup coil unit what NEVER EVER FAILED!!! Still having hard starting... it mades start sometimes when releasing the key. Sometimes I get backfiring when I make a quick turn off to start from begining again. Wiring ? I can't believe is my turn to deal with this, with all the care I have had on these section on my car!, but something to check anyway , nobody is perfect I'm not loosing the BRAKE light at cluster when cranking, what normally is a simpthom of loose power to coil when cranking, being feeded from ballast

After way to long I have finally got my Charger back home! Its been at a half-arsed body shop and then I had to leave it in my brother garage for a few weeks till I finished building a garage to keep in (Laughing Out Loud) no car tents! What i've done in the last 3 days were pull the front 2 wheels re-sealed them, bleed the brakes, put the tire's make on. Fix a tranny cooler line leak, install a few missing tranny dust shield bolts, adjust the crappy eddy carb, fix some cracked old wire's, test the Alt and clean up all connections on it, tighten the headers and added a missing bolt to the exhaust clamp at the header. I began cleaning the interior for a few hours getting all the bondo dust out. I straightened the brackets up on the motor, removed the fav for safety reason's and let it heat it up fast. I'm going out tonight to trim the dash for the dash cap, pull the back seats out for more cleaning, pull the steering wheel off to get the start switch out because its broke and keeps sending a signal to the starter so it stays on while the engnine is running Maybe have another look at the valve guide's which are worn out and leaking oil....i might just leave it becuase I'm going to rebuild the engine anyways... Thats whats been going on with my Beast so far.

Here is an alternative to mounting your car on a rotisserie to do media blasting. Lift one end with an engine hoist. You can get some good height. Before questioning my sanity or safety, or submitting the pic to the stupid things men do, a pair of cheap sawhorses were placed to help support the car.
A pair of heavy duty sawhorses are being built, one is done. Lift the backend, place one sawhorse & lower car. Go to front and do the same, leave hoist attached for added safety. Measurements were made to customize the horses for frame width, desired height.
This still isn't quite as convenient, especially when blasting boxed in areas, like the area where the front side of the leaf springs bolt in, but, if you have to haul the car somewhere to do the rotisserie thing, and pay $$ for the work, then it is cheaper.
November provided some nice weather for work. It is now alot colder, so subsequent work will have to wait.
Hopefully, just a few more sessions, and the underside blasting will be all done. Many hours have been spent on this part of the project. A bigger air compressor, and better blasting equip would've shortened this project considerably.
Hopefully, the pic will show up...

The pic did show up for me. It sounds like you are trying to be safe about it. Sawhorses would sink into the saturated ground down here

I'm heading to buy a ignition switch unit from Mopar. Hope fully install it tonight and that should fix my starter staying on problem Then i'll be fixing or making new power steering brackets because mine are bent and then the power steering unit itself moves when i turn the wheel so i'll be looking at that and replacing what i think is a missing bolt.

I have been following traffic on this site on and off for a couple of years when my time permits... I really enjoy reading the information and discussions and have learned a great deal. I finally think I have something to contribute. Working on a 72 Charger, 318 column shift car, that will now have a 440, 4spd with the 72 Louvered doors and 71 RT hood. The body was fairly rust free. It did have a great deal of surface scale, some rust in the floor pan seams under the seam sealer, and required small patches in the lower 1/4s and behind the hood hinges in the fender well. Someone had started the project by installing 4 spd pedals, and stripping about 80% of the body. I have completed all of the work myself along with some help from my daughters. The original intent was to just put a quick paint job on the car and let my kid drive it... as you can see... the project has grown somewhat... It is after all... a charger in pretty decent shape. I felt that even though it wasn't worth a whole lot of money I had to do it justice as I have the parts to make it a nice car. The project has turned out to be a great learning experience although have felt like a monkey with a football bat at times. All rust has been repaired. All seam sealer has been pried up and replaced. The floor pans, and trunk floor have been painted with rust encapsulator then hit with epoxy primer/sealer. The exterior has received a coat of etch primer, followed by a coat of epoxy primer sealer. Then several coats of surfacer and small amounts of filler were applied where needed. The attached pic is now about two years old. The pics on the attached link range from about a year ago to several weeks ago. I am a little farther along on the project and hope to have it in paint within the next several weeks. Plan is to paint it Black with a white stripe around the 1/4 and trunk and white on the powerbulge. img191.imageshack.us/g/dscn0358r.jpg/Joe
