I did some searching on this issue and found nothing that I can understand. The motor has 3 wires, 1 that slides over a terminal which I presume is the ground. The other 2 I believe are both hot. Depending on which one has power it turns clockwise or counterclockwise. I tried remembering what Tom told me but I'm a little technically challenged when it comes to electrical. What feeds the up and what feeds the down? Can a toggle switch be used if wired properly?

I believe by tieing into the DIMMER switch green wire you are tieing into the light switch....cars like mine that it was an option to have hideaways had a green connector in the harness by the light switch I could tie into... You simply splice into dimmer wire... I know you can be thrifty...and you can make your own harness....BUT I bought the complete harness on ebay for around $112...it included the three different harnesses required ... I know you wont but its out there

Bob, I did this a couple of months ago using a new 5-pin relay. Piece of cake. Let me know if pics of my wiring would help!

as stated, the green wire coming from light switch is the trigger for the relay. BUT 73/74s doesn't have the provision for this, like 71/72s did, SO, you must splice this signal either from light switch or floor dimmer switch... of course, floor dimmer switch or kick panel area is the easier.

Actually the only harness section I would get myself is the one between firewall harness and motor due the rubber plug DEMANDS an splice and sold wires, then tape the splices... rest of wires is just crimp straight to terminals and not uggly splices on the way. Grommets can be found around. Boros sells harness sections individually
