I know 72 uses that location for seatbelt relay and lights on buzzer, but dunno if also for headlamps delay relay
Lights on buzzer is strapped to the relay
I'll try to get out to take a few pics tomorrow night.
I seem to be confused on this subject actually. There is a
headlamp (HL) control relay, HL circuit breaker, HL on buzzer &
HL delay relay....sheesh. I have a few pics of what is in my
harness & what is still connected to it. I have identified the
connector in the main harness for the buzzer - but the extension
harness & actual buzzer are MIA. I believe that the HL delay
relay is actually the HL control relay w/ built in timer - but even
after looking at both 70 & 72 cars together with FSM wiring
diagrams.....I don't know. If nothing else: may these pics help
you to identify the rest of your system & to post pics & info of
what you have!!!
The orange connector above is for the HL on buzzer as seen
below.
There is room & provision for many items to be mounted to the
bottom rail of the dashboard between the ashtray & glovebox.
The HL buzzer connector in the main wiring seems to be ready
for wiring that would lead in that direction. I haven't found
mention of a delay relay for the headlamp system yet.
As a quick aside, my 70 Charger is equiped with the A01 Light
Pkg which includes a HL on delay relay which unfortunately is
also a mystery to me. I tried to overhaul that system in my 70
back in 84. I was able to buy the main relay & circuit breaker
from Dodge for a 72 at the time. Since the housings are different
I just swapped the guts into my original housings. The whole
thing failed again 2 months later & I never saw the delay relay -
much less watch it in action.
Gonna be cool when we do figure it out!
