Ok so I started tearing into the front suspension to replace upper and lower bushings and all went well till I tried to remove torsion bar. There is no tension on bar, everything has been removed but it won't budge. Rear clip is removed and its been PB blasted its been hammered its been called bad names and everything but it won't move. I tried making clamps to put around bar to hammer on but they won't hold good enough, also I know not to scratch bar. The whole front of car is off the ground and is supported under frame about where mirrors are on the door, is that ok? I have tried driving lower arm backwards hoping to shove the whole thing back but no luck. Please help if you know what to do.

I have tried driving lower arm backwards hoping to shove the whole thing back but no luck. Please help if you know what to do. It's been awhile since I removed mine but if memory serves, I think I used an old belt around the bar then clamped as tight as I could with a pair of vise grips and used a hammer on the vise grips to knock it out. There is a tool for doing just that but I wasn't going to spend the money so the vise grip trick worked just fine for my needs. Also, make sure you turn the adjusting bolt on the lower arm counterclockwise to release all the tension on the bar. and when you are done, keep track of which one is which, they should be marked with an L and R for left and right. Hope this helps.

Well I Finely gave up on getting torsion bar out and replaced upper bushings, upper balls and shocks. I had front aligned and it does drive better so I'm happy. Ill refrain any more projects like that I think but thanks for the tips.

The easy way to take these out is to make a tool your self
about six inches long with a handle that comes out
One side has a shallow V grove and the other a flat plate
Bolt together and take a 2 pound hammer and hit them out
Make sure you take out the clips first on the rear
They will come out

I made two clamps but neither would hold good enough. There is not much room to work either, exhaust is right up against it and close to floor pan. I really needed it on a lift but I don't happen to have one of those so there ya go.

you could try to remove T bar with LCA together... then separate them out of the car

The one that is on flease bay works right tight to the exhaust
Just use a good 2 or 3 pound hammer they will move
