What brand?
Did you have to dent ding or modify in any way?
What engine?
With or without a mini starter?
Maybe you prefer to leave the stock exhaust manifolds . Why?

Stayed with the stock high performance manifolds but I did spend the money and go with 2.5" TTI exhaust system. The pipes are very Impressive in the bending; and fit was a very fine glove! Was not interested in the 10-15 horsepower.
Second the problem with starters, this decision was made before the mini starters were known to work.
Have not regretted do it this way, I always can put a mini in when this on dies, and it will someday.

No...I do not have headers on any of the Mopars that I currently own. I have had them on two Chargers before....and frankly I did not like them. They quickly looked like crap... Shifter linkage issues, repeated burnt plug wires, repeated gasket failures....more that I care to deal with. Both sets had to be dented for clearance. I don't recall what brands they were. Seems like the ones I had on a 440 had virtually no clearance for one of the passenger side plug wires. #6 cylinder, if memory serves me right.
My uneducated guess it that you will probably have to do the same, unless you step up to a premium brand ($$$) header, like TTI. I would be seriously aggravated if I spend good money on ceramic coated headers and then had to dent the snot out of them for clearance. But I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.
With that said, I am not a hard core high performance type of guy. Whether my 440 has 275 HP or 500 HP, really does not matter to me.

I installed a set of Hooker Comps, NOT Super Comps, on my '71 Charger when I put a 440 in it last summer. I had to ding one tube near the steering box, probably wouldn't have to do it on a low deck BB, and ding the passenger side header because it rubbed the torsion bar. I used a very short plug that gave better clearance for the plug wire boots. I bought those high heat boot protectors to keep from melting the wire boots. I used the original starter since there was room. Later I will remove the headers and have them coated in some type of ceramic coating. After I removed the torsion bars, they almost jumped up into place by themselves. I tried to install them with the torsion bars in. The drivers side went on, but there was no way it was going on the passengers side with the TB in the way. I plan to upgrade to a newer type starter for a Dakota, wrapped in heat shield. The headers make A LOT of heat. I've always liked how headers look, when done right, but they have always been somewhat of a pain to maintain. I have owned several cars over the years that had headers, but the biggest problem was rust. No matter what brand high heat paint you use, it eventually flakes off. The only way to keep them looking decent, is to buy a set, ding them up to fit, then have them ceramic coated.

TTI. They are the best. Hands down. Expensive for a reason. No dings. Mini starter. Have to run hydraulic release bearing though as they state. Linkage for a 4 gear won't clear. But running one hydraulic line isn't the end of the world. I have the 3" TTI exhaust into Magnaflow's too.

Won't ever have headers again myself, too many hassles. But I just helped do a car with TTI' s which are sweet and one with Hooker comps which went well but looks like it will be hard on the starter. They drag, they leak , they burn the crap out of you, etc. etc., I don't need the headache but they are the only way to optimize all the power you pay to build into your engine.

I have a set of Schumaker Tri Ys with the standard starter and are nice in between solution and they are a good fit. I didn't want the low hanging full size headers as the front of my car is rather low, so clearance was the reason I went with Try Ys. No dings anywhere! And, you can run a mini starter with these as I had a set on my 440 Duster for a while before I went fenderwell.

No and I won't think will do ever. I like my stock engine bay look a lot.
Beside that, I don't want to deal with ministarters, streets bumps hitting everywhere, burnt wires... my car uses to be a driver.
IF SOMEDAY change my mind, maybe would go with shorties, never longs

I have been running headers for some time, I love them for the extra power and the sound, no burnt wires or leaky gaskets. Mine are coated and I use percy's header gaskets. I have Hooker comps and they did need a couple of dings for the eddy heads and one for the power steer. I fitted them up and had them coated after I was happy with them. If I had to replace them I would go with the TTI's. I would only use headers if they were coated, makes a big difference.

I put a 440 in my 72 and already had Headman Headers before starting the engine build. I had read a lot of good things about the headers and how well they fit before starting the build. They may fit nicely with stock heads but not with Edelbrock heads.
Can't even get the #6 plug in without modifying the tube. Also had to clearance the tube to clear the steering gear box. No way to install a stock starter. Mini starter is a must and you have to cradle it in the header and basically install both at the same time. Don't know how linkage would have worked because I converted to floor shift and Lokar kickdown.
