Well guys, my wife, daughter, and myself were almost killed Friday afternoon. I was bringing them home from Minot ND to Cheyenne Wyoming and were traveling on a 2 lane highway. A 99 Tahoe traveling at a very high rate of speed turn sharply towards us, my wife swerved sharply towards the ditch and was entering it when it hit us in the doors of my ram 3500. We were spun sideways and began rolling and finally stopped on our wheels. I raised up in the front passenger side and looked over to my wife who was driving. She was spun sideways in the seat with her butt n legs out where the upper half of the door used to be and was screaming for me to get her loose. The hip buckle was pinned under her armpit and I couldn't reach it. I crawled out my window to go to her side. When I hit the ground I seen my daughter about 40 feet further up the shoulder. She must have taken her seatbelt off to sleep more comfortably. I ran up to her flat on her back with eyes wide open and dust n dirt in them. That vision is etched into my mind and will probably hunt me for the rest of my days. Anyway I dropped to my knees are grabbed her by the shoulders and started talking to her. Within a few seconds she gasped and started blinking and talking. I seen her legs and arms moving, can't describe the emotions going thru me. That's when I heard my wife again and seen several bikers running up to me. I said to make her stay put and ran to free my wife which I did. I also reached in to shut off my idling deisel . Helped the wife limp over to my daughter, she was in shock. Long story shorter... they both got medevac flown to the next bigger hospital. Daughter had a concussion, lacerated liver, collapsed lung, broken femur where it attaches to the hip, lower leg n ankle area are broke badly, and lots of road rash. Wife had collapsed lung, lots of sever bruising n cut everywhere, both knees ankles n feet have torn tendons/muscles/ligaments plus couple minor broken foot bones. I had one knick on the thumb but not even deep enough to bleed. Now comes the crazy part...state patrol came to us yesterday and said the driver was a 16,year old kid who was broke up with by his girlfriend and he told her he was going to kill himself in his truck...and succeeded. Not sure why he choose my truck to hit. He attempted to hit us head on but my wife saved us by turning very sharply. The cop said he was well in excess of 80 in the 65 zone. I feel terrible for his parents but not at all sure what to think of his selfish actions. I feel terrible that a kid was at fault and ended his own life but wanted to kill me and my family angers me. I am a very forgiving guy and do not want to hate him for what he has done.
Gary
I can get some pictures of what's left of my ram 3500...but looks horrible. I posted several on Facebook... Friend me if you want to see them...Gary L. Herren

Sheesh, nukeem, that's awful. But trucks can be replaced and the human body heals in remarkable ways - so in that respect I'm just relieved to hear that you, your wife and your daughter are all still alive.
Best wishes to your family for a full recovery, it sounds like they have a tough road ahead.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for you and your family.

Thanks guys, much as I want to be mad its just a kid and he killed himself. While not happy about it, ecstatic that my family will make a full recovery even if takes a while. Holding hate will only change me into someone I am not. I have pity for his family and what they must think we are thinking. Considered reaching out to them but don't want open more wounds.
Appreciate all the kind words too, means a lot. I can't find a way to post pics from my replaced phone. Maybe forward it to Dave or Tom? Truck looks badddddddf.
