The support bars that run from the firewall to the fenders, braces or what ever they are. The bolts that hold them to the fender, black - same as the bar, or body color? If they were all body color, they would have been painted with the cars at the factory, then is the car went through, removed to secure the bars ... I would think. That is assuming the fender bolts are all body color. Are they? I have numerous pics I've saved of engine bay(s) and I see them both ways. What is correct?

My never taken apart 74 had the fender bolts body color and the bars are black 60 percent glossy. That's the only way I've seen 73-4s. Same bars on a Coronet by the way. "If they were all body color, they would have been painted with the cars at the factory, then is the car went through, removed to secure the bars ... I would think" The nut in the center is grey phosphate as near as I remember at 1:00 in the morning. All the fender bolts are painted with the car.

There is always a possibility of differences between assembly plants. If you go to the "gear heads garage" section of this site look under ' An Interesting Collection of old Mopar Photos...." I poked around and found some 72 engine bay photos in there, but the Charger had a 440 6-pack and no support bars. I recommend starting a sticky with original Chrysler PR shots and vintage photos from back in 71-74. It would be great for both concourse restorations AND just to see where things are supposed to go/fit! (I'll keep looking)

That is a great idea Vic. Maybe we can persuade Dave to start one up. I have LOADS of pics that I saved of various things for reference. I'm sure Nacho does as well. Looking at pics of old cars/Mopars that are either survivors or being sold on EBay as one owners, never molested. That would be very helpful.

I'll look into it...where it should live, what I have archived, etc.

How about in the Board section making another section called Restoration Reference. Then sub divide that up into Interior, Engine bay, Doors, Body differences, etc.

I think all mine were body color. I remember not wanting to put a socket on them to remove the bars in fear of ruining the paint. I eventually had to in order to pull the engine. Don't quote me though.

Seems to me that all the ones on the cars that I have parted out were black.
