Spring tends to get my automotive juices flowing a little...so I have been thinking about what I'd like to get done on my car(s) this year.
It's way overdue....but I'd like to finally get the dash pulled out of my orange 72 and get new wiring harness, Rallye gauges, and dash pad installed.
Really should not take but a day or two if I put my mind to it.
Also need to get the transmission selector shaft seal replaced, so it will stop puking fluid on the exhaust.
Makes quite the ridiculous smoke cloud when it gets started after sitting for a few days...and the fluid burns off.
Then hopefully, I would like to get started on my next car.
A couple years ago, I bought a 72 from Jer. Nothing special, just an original 318 bench seat car, with a 360 in it now.
I was in no rush to actually get it.
But we are looking to get it here in the next few months.
For quite awhile, I debated as to what I'd want to do with it.
The answer was staring me in the face...when I picked up a set of R/T doors last year. (thanks Bob)
All these 71 and R/T parts (71 buckets, hood, tail lights, doors, and 71 fenders) and no 71 to put them on....and I don't want to buy another car!
So, I'd like to build a fairly convincing R/T clone out of the 72.
How convincing remains to be seen...not sure if I want to go to the lengths of finding a 71 engine, radiator, carb, exhaust manifolds.... etc etc
But I would like to at least put the R/T upper door panels in it, torque boxes, and skid plate.
That will be my next project. I hope to at least get started on it this year.
What do you hope to get done this year?
