Ok. I'm finally trying to pin down how many options my car has. I'm not sure if it's 17, 18 or 19. I have the build sheet and have decoded it. Cross checked that with the dealer data list and even have checked every brochure I have come across to see what comes standard on the SE and what is included with each package.
What I am not sure of is the following two option: 1) R31) Rear speaker. Looks like a seperate option on the dealer data book. Got it on the build sheet but don't know if it came with the R26 AM radio w/cassette which I have. Also I don't have the fader knob on the dash nor does it looks like it should be there. Was the knob just used on the FM stereo? I don't have the original rear speaker as the former owner installed a pair of speakers to go with the aftermarket stereo which was installed loosely in place of the ultra rare cassette deck. Ugh! Cass. deck is missing and I've tried to see if he still had it but no luck.
2)C97) Trunk dress up package. Got it on the build sheet but don't see it on the Dealer Data. Did it come with the SE model or was it a seperately ordered option?

Without seeing the fender tag hard to say. some packages list items, some do not. some get listed on the build sheet, some not. The engine/hood insulation for example. Then, if it is a Lynch Road car ... that is an entirely other ballgame!!!!

I have the factory AM radio, left-only rear speaker, and rear fader dial. Its a 2 watt!! Yes a high performance 2W system: Code R11 Music Master Am Radio: ... Code R31 Front Single Speaker with R11 Radio, Single Rear Speaker Code 31 is a separate box on my build sheet, so maybe you could get all kinds of speakers with all kinds of radios.

Yeah Lynch Rd car so not much info on the tag. Just the body specific options. I re-looked at the dealer data info and the rear speaker is listed as "extra" seperate from the AM/cass. That makes 18 confirmed options listed on the build sheet. The last unknown is the trunk dress up package. It's listed on the build sheet but it's not in the dealer data book. Don't know if it came standard on the SE. Every one of my options seem to be listed on the build sheet including the (J55)Undercoating/Underhood insulation. The car was pretty much unmolested, except for the cassette player.

Yeah I have the separate box marked 31 but no fader dial. I need to look again to see if it used to be there. I need to see why my map light isn't working anymore anyway.

There's a good thread here on the Lynch Road fender tags. As you've discovered, they don't list all the options ordered on a particular car. The broadcast sheet does list all the options and is considered a complete accounting of how the car was built by the factory. There have been a few exceptions to this that have been documented but they are rather rare.
I think the radios listed in the parts manual with the "Less Knobs" notation indicate a radio that had the fader built into the radio and therefore didn't require the fader installed in the dash map light panel.

Yeah read that before. My understanding is that only options listed are ones that required a change in the body like extra holes drilled/punched and such. The radio "less knobs" would explain it. Pulled the map light down to fix the loose bulb and there never was a fader knob unless the whole map light has been changed. Can't see the wires in the trunk for the speaker but they might be buried under the carpet or behind the dress up cardboard. Not gonna pull that stuff out to look for it unless I have another reason to do so. Got other stuff to get to first.

Hi Jeff, I was under the impression the trunk dress up was standard but have not seen anything conclusive. Regarding the speaker, mine has the single rear speaker with fader. When I got the car it also had the Motorola AM/FM Stereo radio but I'm not sure it's original to the car and my build sheet is long gone.

need to note no matter what the tag/buildsheet sayes, STEREO Radios ( which are only AM/FM, since there no existe such a thing like an AM stereo audio signal ) with fader knob. These radios got the fader knob on the outer ring of the dial knob.
I THINK ( not sure ) you could get DUAL Mono though if you got a Multiplexer radio ( able to get the cassette option ) with AM. I think these could get the fader also on Radio instead divorced Fader knob. NOT SURE, JUST A GUESS
then any single MONO radio ( AM or FM ) could get the divorced fader knob if it got dual speaker ( one in front one in rear, driver side )
Dual rear speaker was not posible with rear deffog blower. And dual rear speaker I THINK could be just on STEREO audio system, never MONO. Makes no sense dual speaker on MONO system.
Stereo system with single rear speaker got left on front and right on rear... Dual speaker got front and left rear linked to Left and Right rear speaker just to right signal... this maybe was posible being the right side got a bigger speaker ( 6x9 ) than left ( 5x8 ) and front ( 4x10 ). In Audio dual speakers could get the same lower freq response than a bigger speaker in a 1.4:1 rate ( for example 2 10" speakers will be able to reproduce the same than a 14" speaker,.... well actually 15" since there is not 14" on market ), so that could be a reason for that.

Steve, I kinda was thinking the same about the trunk dress up.
Nacho, Is there a way to tell if the radio is the Multiplexer? I was under the dash to take care of some wiring issues and found all the wires are unplugged. If I plug in the Red & Orange wires (power & light) the radio will light up but since the speakers are unplugged - no sound. I see a 3 wire set (1 wire being purple) coming out of the radio I assume is for the speakers but can't find the plug going to the speaker. The radio also has a coaxial type multi-plug I assume is for the cassette plug in. Might have to pull the gauge cluster to try to find it but I don't think I want to see if the radio works that bad. For now I'll just have to listen to the glass packs.
