I'm seriously considering upgrading my stock sealed halogen beams to LED. I'd like to see down the road when going 75+MPH. With a little research I've found a company out of California, Octane Lighting, that makes open glass lighting housings that replicate our H5001 H5006 sealed Halogen Beams. They accept LED bulbs with no wiring mods or HID's with modification. You can even get them with 4 variations of Halos (but the open housings to accommodate the Halos have flat fronts and are not faceted like their OEM replacement ones). Has anyone had any experience with this? I'm tired of my tired 1971 headlights and would like them to look like the OEMs, but light like something from something from the 2010's.

These look interesting. Do you know if they make a version without the goofy 'halo'?

But again on all these, you're going to have to chop up the headlamp seat/bucket for it to fit. For the once a year I drive the car after dark not to mention the price, that is why I opted to pass.

Our cruise nites go past 8:00pm. And without AC, PS, PB etc. it's much more fun to ride when it's cool. I also take the car out in the winter when there is no snow or salt on the road. I'm going to have them give me the dimensions of their glass enclosures with the cap on and measure it against the buckets on my 71. Now looking online for LED headlight bulb replacements for my Trailblazer's Halogen ones. Screw it, if everyone else is blinding me so they can see (Audi, Lexus, BMW, etc.), then why shouldn't I be able to see a 1/2 mile down the road too?
