i have a 73. I picked up a set of 72 rear bumper brackets at Carlisle last year to pull the bumper in and get rid of the filler strip. If I switch to a 72 rear bumper as well, will the rest of my 73 hardware bolt up? Tail lights, license plate fuel door etc. It may be cheaper to buy a new 72 bumper in place of trying to get the 73 bumper redone if the rest of the parts I have can still be used. Thanks

I believe the only difference in the 72 vs 73 bumper is the slots for the jack stand. 73 does not have them 72 does (I believe).

the bumper with its brackets will be a plug and play
72s got a slots... unique for this year. 73/74 uses same J kind jack, but bumpers get a notch on bottom, not anymore the slot. If you are bolting up the 72, just keep it like it is with full assembly
73/74 of course got the provisions for the fillers where 71/72 not.
if you are keeping the 73 tail light assembly, match the license plate related items with the tail lights. They got some differences too. some important ( like the bottom license plate holder lenght ), some other not
sometimes the 73/74 gas filler tube gets into clearence problems with license plate using the 71/72 bumper brackets
