I'm rebuilding my Carter AVS, model #4401S. The kit instructions (and a book I have) both show a linkage rod connecting the vaccum break to the choke shaft. My carburetor has a spring there instead. Did some models have a spring, or do I need to start hunting down that linkage rod. The car it's going on is a 73 Charger Rallye with a 440. But the carb is not original to it. Thanks.
Curt
Edit: And a follow-up question. My carb didn't come with a pump discharge ball. I found replacements but I don't know what it had originally. 1/8" or 5/32", aluminum or steel?

Thanks for sharing that link yargnitram. Someone looking for similar help may find that helpful some day.
Clearly, we did not have the answer within our group at that time.
