My '71 is now (week of 07/22) being painted (B5), and I'm considering making this a 'Bee clone. The Bulge hood I have doesn't have the center cutout for an insert (Air grabber or otherwise). Will the graphics sets available (Classic Industries, Phoenix etc.) cover that center area where the insert would otherwise be, or are they made solely for insert style hoods? What about the R/T sets? Same thing there? I'd guess they do not, but rather circle it.
Before I drop dollars on a graphics set...
Thank you for any/all input.
As regards "originality," this was a 318 flat hood rig, so maintaining its purity is essentially meaningless in my book. 318, 904 trans, 8.25 diff. are gone, so it cannot be returned to numbers matching.

Let's see, on 71 there was not Bulged hoods without cut outs. The first ones were on 72. All 71s got cut outs either for SuperBee/RT insert or the Ram hood, so, the hood you have is not 71 really.
Sell the one you have will be easy on a good price, now, get the one with the insert AND the insert won't be really cheap. Selling your bulged hood maybe will cover just 75% of the Superbee setup.
There is another thread around talking about hoods, and odzking is searching for some 73 and 74. Would need to get the pic of your one to know which one you got between 72 and 74.
Search the thread. Maybe a trade could be in the air ? ( he got a Superbee hood on his car ) LOL
Now, about the decals... I can't really say if the decals are already cut on center to the insert or not. If not, I think you'll be fine with that while you don't get the correct hood for the clone.
