That'll be hard since I don't have the roll down rear windows I think we've found the problem. The seal on my glass doesn't attach to the body, just the glass. It's going to be a totally different piece. Wish I'd thought of that! Ok then, important information. Nevermind then. Seal still slides out now it's a matter of can the chrome trim be removed without removing the window. Most other brands this piece is just pressed on held by a C channel of rubber. Don't know if Mopar bonded these on.

Not bonded but also a filler into the channel. Not sticky but somekind of filler

That's one of my originals in the last pic I posted. It's full of splits. I tried to glue them back together and made an even uglier mess.

**From my resto** Here's my latest purchase, time to start putting those rear quarter windows back, picked these up from National Moparts here in Canada, this is the place I actually bought my car back in '92. Hey Nigel. Removed the old seal, the new seal slides in and this little metal tab goes through the whole in the rubber seal. Used some silicone spray as the seal was a very tight fit; which of course you want. As we know with most repro parts they are usually a little off, the hole that was drilled in the seal was out of place so I had to drill a new whole and it had to be a little more oval for the rubber seal to fit over it. Finished product, I am very happy with it and glad it was available in the aftermarket, mine have always looked like crap.

That is different than my '71. No metal tab to hold the tail down. Mine was held by a screw and my old tail was longer. I can see now that seal really was made for '72 & up. I had to drill a hole in solid metal to run a screw into. As usual I get going on a project and forget to take pictures.

I don't know what you'd ever need a tab or screw for. If I can ever get mine on, I'm confident it will stay put until the rubber desiccates and disintegrates. I lubricated the channel and the rubber and I'm still having to pull with all my might to get the next 1/16". I've got 3" to go and I think I can get it on but this is not a job for the weak or feeble. If I were any older I'd be in danger of an aneurysm. The metal reinforcement has actually popped out of the weatherstrip at the top - I don't think this will be a problem but it goes to show how much force I've had to put into the strip. This can't be right. Maybe it will help if I bring it into the house and let it warm up, then again, most things expand when they're warm. There's got to be a better way. BTW, my original passenger side strip wasn't tabbed into place at the bottom. Somebody forgot that step, but the rubber stayed in place for 50 years. Haven't looked at the driver's side yet.

I suspect there is some high quality Chinese manufacturing at play here. Or perhaps there is a special trick I don't know, like installing the rubber caps on riding lawnmower axles with heat. Either this isn't manufactured right, or I'm not installing it the right way.
edit - well, being in the house didn't help any. I can't budge it at all now.
