Happy New Years everyone!!
I am looking through kijiji and facebook marketplace and found a 1970 grill assembly with hide-away headlights, as well a 1969 charger instrument cluster with a vacuum switch for said hide-away headlights.
I am curious how compatible they would be with a 1973 SE??
Thank you, Happy restoring!!

Recently I posted a pic of a Venezuelan 72 Charger with a 71/73 Coronet bumper and grill. I think nobody have tried to get that assembly done WITH 2 gen grills thought. This has been talked in the past around here looooong time ago.
2nd and 3rd gens are diff width too.

Isn't the '70 setup an electrically operated system as opposed to the '68/69 vac system?

Yeap it is. But switch itself is the same for 68/70. Vacuum section is attached to, but wouldn’t be used on the 70 and lates thought if that’s the case. Wiring will need to be built anyway (piece of cake) and some splices made into the 73 harness are required because hideaways provisions are only 71/72 deal on 3rd gens.
Now, dunno what it was the intention to get the 69 parts thought! Maybe he thought it was necessary on 70 grill? Or thinking also on an interior custom job with 2gen dash?
Anyway, still with all the parts, fitment needs to be prooved.
-Using 71/74 bumper? Mods are required -Using 70 bumper? Seriously I don’t thing is possible. 70 bumper is straight and finishes the body lines, while 3rd gens fits underneath fenders and hood and they are curved. -I only can think on using 71/73 Coronet bumper is posible “on the easy”
Diff gen widths are an issue anyway
But with grinder, welder and hammers anything is posible!
As mentioned search for the old thread when we talked about this. Some images were edited/photoshopped to check for the look of the setup.
