I can't speak for any'74 Charger models other than the SE because those photo shots in the official 1974 DODGE Charger propaganda flyer were taken at off angles. The one for the SE was taken off the passenger side at straight enough side shot to clearly make out the arrow is forward of the Charger emblem so for sure that is how I'll be placing mine. I just have to decide on spacing now.

Yeah well… i just have allways thought SEs were on that way just like the stripe. Not saying I’m right or having the certain about that really.
The purple Charger is not stock anymore anyway.
Dunno if the SEs you posted are really survivors? Bronze one doesn’t look it is thought.
I have been searching brochure pics of driver side door and haven been able to find one where is shown clearly.
How is the setup on C pillars on those which got the same emblem and arrow setup? i think some 71/72s did? And how it is on 66/67 C pillars?
I have missed sometimes these details on all these years LOL.

BTW, IMHO, I can’t see a reason in any of the variations, why they should be attached at a diff starting point from the front leading edge.

Well that is surprising. I never paid attention to that particular detail.

Guys, I really didn't intend to open such a big bucket of worms. I suppose Mother MOPAR might have indeed left the placement choice (other than general location) up to the assembly line. I have decided to follow their lead and put both sides 8.5 inches from the body line and forward emblem(both sides)three inches from the door leading edge.

Not a bucket of worms but a very interesting topic for some of us who maybe never thought on this Just found on a full line Dodge brochure a pic of the Charger SE driver side. Hard to see, but making a zoom, the arrow points to rearward, just like the 72 C pillar

Agreed...this is the sort of thing that is nice to document now if we can. I'm glad you brought it up. I'm just back from a big car show...quite a few 3rd gens, but none that will help with this issue.
