Yeah tell me about it and the thing is the only reason I new it was there was I originally went there lookin for a fuel pump for my dads 2004 Dodge Neon and i asked for the classic car section. Then I saw it a butterscotch colored 1972 Charger SE no front end but the front bumper assembly was there in the car. So I grabbed that S.O.B lol and took it to the front asked how much? Then nearly fainted with the answer lol $50+ Tax came to $53.69 Im still in shock lol. I just hope the motor works. That bar that connects between the two bumper brakets that holds the bumperettes is pretty bent. But the thing is nothing else is and nothing is cracked everything is there. I am extremley happy! . I have seen just the plastic grilles on ebay up to $200 so i know its a hott item. Im very happy I found this treasure. I never thought id ever get a deal like this. I am going back to strip whatever else i can get off the car. Here is a Better pic of it. ( )

Well Its been awhile since i have tinkered with my charger but i am still trying to figure ouy how to hookup these 72' Hideaways to my 74'. Can i use a toggle switch or how can i hook it up to when i pull the headlights switch they open up at the same time? If someone can help me with this i would be very appreicative. I would also like to see what the 72's hideaways look new, see what the paint looks like close up so i could detail them and repaint them.

My guess is the easiest way is to find a switch that can lower and raise and wire it direct. But you would have to remember to raise that covers when turning lights on.

Charger1974SE, do you have any '70's vintage Factory Service Manuals (FSMs)? That system is (operationally) the same on all the cars with concealed headlamps. It won't answer your SPECIFIC questions about your installation, but I'd be happy to post some photos of the FSM pages for your reference, if you don't have them.

I'm with Dyno here. Gonna be easier & build & use the proven factory setup than to design your own.
Is the headlight switch different? The concealed headlight relay & circuit breaker are needed.

No i dont have any service manuals unfortinatley. I heard i needed the circuit breaker and realay which i dont have. So looks like im on the hunt for those too. That would be cool of you dynodave to do that. You guys have been most helpfull thank you. I have been searcin on the net trying to locate the diagram that shows how to hook em up but no luck. I know 70' and below are vaccum and 71-72' is electric. Which my setup is from a 72' so electric. But if you could get those on here dynodave i would be very apreciative.

It's really beside the point all together - but, 70 started the electric headlight door movement in Chargers. This movement continued well beyond 72 in other models. My point is that parts are more common than you might think!
