Was wondering if 71 grills will fit into 72 brackets and if 71 seat foam will work on a 72 seat frame so I can use 71 seat covers. I cannot stand those little buttons! Reminds me of some of the ugliest furniture the 1960's produced. Any help appreciated.

grilles are all years interchangeable.
I don't think you'll have problems trying to fit the 71 foam on 72 frame... HOWEVER I think you made a typo mistake... are you trying to use 71 covers on to 72 buckets right ? using 71 seatcovers on to 72 structure. I don't think you'll have problems. The deal on diff buckets are really the release button stuff, making different the panels and the frame just on that area.
is just a guess.

Thanks for the response. I do want to put 71 covers on a 72 frame. If anyone has actually done it I would like to know.

I assume you're talking about bucket seats, although you didn't mention that in your original post. I will be installing 71 Legendary Seat covers on my 72 split bench (w/folding armrest) this month, I'll let you know how that works out, along with the rears too, of course. I bought the 71s at a very good price from a member here, and based my hope that they will fit my 72 seat on my ol' PAL Nacho's assurance that they would fit... I hope for his sake [ ] that he's right!! ;D ;D

yeah it should be LOL... but talking about buckets where armature is diff, foams should be interchangeable because armature difference is as far I know just about the release button area, so that would make posible covers fit. The release button diff makes the back panels are different too, but keeping matched panels with armature, won't have a problem. IF SOME DIFFERENCE with foam and covers I DON'T think will be imposible to trim out!!!!!!!

Sounds like the 72 is going to get 71 seat covers!! Goodbye Grandma buttons!! It is a bucket seat car. It has 71 console, 71 hood,71 decklid, 71 louvered talilites and if I could find a pair of grills I could afford, 71's. I do like the 71 side markers better but I'm just going to french the 72's or go with 68 round ones. When you go to install the seat covers, put those covers in the sun .It helps alot. I've tried steamers, heat guns, and even closing off a room in the house and firing up the heat for a few hours but nothing beats a good 90 degree sunny day to install seat covers!! Shoot some pictures and do a tech article. This is an area where everybody can save money and do it themselves. If nothing else, they will appreciate the good ol' smell of mouse pee that upholsterers get to enjoy when they put them on for you.
