Can someone with one of these cars please tell us the difference in standard 72 taillight lenses vs. S.E. lenses? I was reading the "parts wanted for repro" post and it piqued my interest. I always thought the S.E.s just had a chrome bezel added to a regular lens, now I'm reading about nubs.
Pictures would be super.
Thanks!
Steve the Q-man (If I give you advice, is it a "Q-tip"?)

Steve, I don`t have pictures to show you... but the SE tail lights are an entire different lens, different part number, with WP markings on it. The standard lenses have a raised edge, while the SE lenses are totally flat. Of course, the chrome bezel around the perimeter of the SE lens covers up the fact that the lens does not have a raised edge. Jer collects the lenses, so I`d bet that he might just be willing to post up a pic or two.

I can do that, Tom, but it will be a day or two (or three) before I can get to that.
That I have plenty of SE lenses goes without saying, but I don't remember at this point if I have any non-SE (standard) lenses. I'll have to check on that.
But I know who DOES (I think)...
I think Brock just installed a set of "regulars" on his SE, and since he's "pic happy", maybe he can supply one--or more--showing the raised nub/lip/edge.
Like I said, give me a day or two.
Jer.

Yep thats a standard lens above an SE minus it's bezel. Notice the raised ridge around the standard lense. I gave all my SE lenses to a friend - I didn't want to worry with the troublesome bezels. Jer did have 1 standard lens to give a friend. But, yeah, between the 2 of us, more pics are just a few clicks away.
