You are the resident expert, I hope that you can help. 1) will a steering collum from a 76 interchange with a 73? 2) will a 26 gallon gas tank (again from 76) work in a 73? 3) how about the side mirrors?, they look close and finally 4) will the K frame swap over?

being I never have worked on a 76 but based on is a late B body sharing allmost everything I can guess: 1-it should interchange 2-it should as far dual exhaust doesn't exist, THATS the main reason why is 26 gals, bigger at a side where DOESN'T EXIST an exhaust. 3-fit BUT needs to open diff extra holes ( plus one big to the RH joystick ) since they are studs and internal nuts with a diff reinfoircement plate. A friend of mine fit locally a pair of those BUT found pedestal is shorter and will fit REALLY CLOSE to door belt molding. 4-yes... take in mind the block ( SB or BB )

MAYBE Tom could get better answer since he maybe has been able to compare on some junkyard hunt Sorry, I spend most of my JY time in the imports section. Must be why those darn Japanese cars have finally gained my acceptance. ;D Actually my answers would have been..... 1. probably not 2. probably not......( and as cheap as new tanks are..why?) 3. Yes, with some modification to the mounting. 4. Yes

I'd go "maybe" on the steering column. I think it will bolt up, but the electrical connectors are different.
"I doubt it" on the gas tank. I know 74's & 75's have a huge hump on top, I don't recall on the 76's.
Where's our resident 'Doba expert?

IF does fit, ign switch needs to be changed due the diff terminals, spade insteal bullet kind "I doubt it" on the gas tank. I know 74's & 75's have a huge hump on top, I don't recall on the 76's. I think is the same deal on 76s. There is a dealer down here with a NOS Coronet gas Tank with single exhaust. 75 and 76 Coronets are the same cars with just different grille/front clip and some diff touchs on tail light lenses.

Well, I'm not a Cordoba expert, but I am a fan! ;D I know the "hump" to which you are all referring. I don't know if it appeared in '74/'75, but it is outlined in this '76 Service Features book, so I would suppose from it's presence there that it was a new feature for '76. I believe it stuck around through '78, and was gone for '79, making the '79 tank a one year model, and harder to find for Cordoba and Magnum enthusiasts. It's sort of funny to see this conversation here, about using a Cordoba part in a Charger, as on the Cordoba/Magnum boards the speculation is always about the possibility of using a repro Charger tank in a late (75-79) B body, particularly for the purposes of adding dual exhaust (narrower tank).

Wow, I am suprised by the responses. The most intrest seems to be the gas tank. My chiltons book indicates that the cordoba holds 26 gallons. The charger, 20. My charger, when done, will be a driver. And by "driver", I intend to spend some time in it. I drive from SC to Indiana, and back 4 weekends in the summer (twice in june, and twice in july). I also make 2 trips around Christmas, again for spring break. Its about 9 hours each way. 1150 miles total When the charger is done, I will be driving it back and forth, at least. So, a larger gas tank means less stopping, a longer range But I won't sacrifice duals to get it.

Teddy,
FYI....there were smaller 20ish gallon tanks used on the later Bs when ordered with dual exhaust.
I wouldn't give up duals for extra range either. As a matter of fact, I have a couple of narrow Cordoba tanks, and intend to change my large one out to make installing dual exhaust easier. It can and has been done with the larger tank, but it's a little snug for my comfort.
