Went to a local car show today minus the Charger and stayed about 15 minutes. To hot and to many Phurds and Chebby's. Anyway, on the way home I followed a yard sale sign out in the sticks. I scored 2 complete garage door openers with remotes for 20 bucks. I instlalled one but it got blasted hot so I quit. I was close to buying new ones but glad I waited. Hey Tom, 20 bucks . Pays to hold out

Really, I got mine free. The wife paid for it and for Sears to install it.

I should add that I totally ticked off the guy who came out to install the unit. When he gets to our house, he says they have to install some bracing on my garage door to make it more stable. Says that they cannot install the unit without it, it is required on all installations. (wants more $$$) I tell him I am not interested, that it sounds like a bait and switch game to me and I am not playing. Tell him if that be the case, SEARS should have informed my wife of the additional cost when she purchased the unit and paid for the installation. After a few minutes of arguing with me, he gives up and installs the additional cost bracing kit for Free.

Ah ha. I have Dalton doors that require no header bar. Anyway you are right about the bait and switch. Most doors are made to take a opener without any mods at all.
