Finally went and got some glass bead for my blasting cabinet. Geez... that stuff aint cheap. $27.99 for a fairly small bucket and I picked up two. $109 for another HD 4 wheel folding engine stand to put my newest 440 on. Picked up a spare blasting gun that came with a few extra tips. Hoping that the glass bead will be easier to work with than the black beauty. Also picked up this T-shirt while I was there.

I shouldn't have gone to that Matco Tools website, Tom... I spotted an 8 piece 0 degree ratcheting box wrench set that now I absolutely and all of a sudden need desperately!! www.matcotools.com/Catalog/toolcatalog.jsp?cattype=T&cat=2494&select=&page=2When you mount the engine to the stand, do you need to use grade 8 bolts? I gotta get some for my little projects, and don't know if regular old SAE's are strong enough (it's been awhile since I've done a motor.) I thought you were using a different media than glass beads. [Nice shirt, buddy. #2Thumbs# ]

[Nice shirt, buddy. #2Thumbs# ] Jer..... Once I get rolling on a tool/equipment buying spree, I am hard to stop. My daughter had to drag me out of the Northern last night. I`ll defer to Brock on the bolt grade answer. I have no doubt that his answer is good advice. In the past, I have just used whatever I have laying around. Granted, most of the bolts that size that I have probably are grade 8. On the blast media, I had been using what is generally called black beauty. Its basically coal slag. Its works fine but kicks up such a black dust cloud in the cabinet, that I cant see what the heck I am doing. I also wanted the glass beads to use on some aluminum parts such as manual steering boxes that will be left in a natural finish.
