Quit sucking up. Mrs. Tom already told Nacho NOT to bring you any more Venezuelan chocolate..... I heard her myself !! ;D Ooo Oooo Nacho, bring the chocolate to me! Kids ate what you brought before I could have a taste...........then sat in front of the TV with glassy eyed smiles of contentment

The rear bumper brackets are completely interchangable. That goes for any 71 - 74 Charger & any 71 - 74 rear bumper. The 71 - 72 brackets bring the bumper closer to the body & therefor are much more desirable. Just trying to resolve the confusion.

about the rear bumper brackets... absolutelly yes... all the parts rear bumper related are totally interchangeable between years, including tail lights, with just the bumper filler deals what won't fit on earlier bumpers, but thats all.
about the chocolats...
(Laughing Out Loud)...
But did they like them at least ?

I put 72 rear bumper brackets on my 74. Might as well left the original ones on definitly didn't tuck the 74 bumper in. Are the sides of 73/74 bumpers thinner?
The brackets are 72's because i pulled them off a 72 car. Was there a change in the 72 year for a bumper bracket size or bumper dimesion?

rear bumper brackets are larger on 73/74 than 71/72 due the gap required to body for collision federal requirements ( insurance company demands )... then the bumper filler was installed to hide the gap.
71/74 bumpers are itself EXACTLY SAME DIMENSIONS, however 73/74 are heavier
