...Springtime Weekend, 2 Days of Dodger Baseball on TV, Daylight Savings Time...
...and I'm having bad dreams of Spring and Summer fading away,
and me STILL NOT driving a Charger!!
Soooooo....yesterday I did something about it!!
...I bought this '72 SE Brougham for a "mere" $3400 clams: ;D
He's got a few rust issues, but that's no big deal. The major items he needs are coincidentally items I've already bought for the 72 SE that's currently in my garage:
**Full White Vinyl Top
**New Black Carpet (thanks Firecharger)
**New Black Headliner (Perforated)
**New Legendary Seat Covers--Full Set--(thanks Firecharger)
**Complete Brougham Door Pulls AND Hardware/Caps
**Split Back Bench Seat w/Folding Armrest--if needed--(Thanks Chris)
**Tuff Steering Wheel w/ Adapter (AND 3 other "stock" Charger steering wheels)
**Ash Tray Door (Thanks Chris)
**Glove Box Liner (Thanks Chris)
**Rear Seat Back and Cushion--if needed--(Thanks Chris)
**Gabriel Hi-Jacker Air Shocks
**New Correct Reproduction Battery
**Electric Trunk Release (Thanks Tom)
**Rear Window Defroster--if needed--(Thanks Tom)
**Complete Set of ALL Emblems and Badges-Interior & Exterior including SE Laurel Wreaths/Script AND Front Bumper Arrow!
**Complete Set of all Weatherstrip and Rubber Moldings
**Full Set 14 x 7 Rallye Wheels--if needed--(Thanks Shadowfax)(although I'm likin' those Cragars--if that's what they are.)
**Chrome Seat Back Release Knobs/Bezels/Screws (Thanks Bob)
**Full Set Decals (Jack Instruction/Hideway Motor Warning/AC, etc.)
**(2) Original (not reprint) Glove Box Owner's Manuals
And (because I'm either going to have to rebuild the motor or find another 318--for now)
**1972 Service Manual--Reprint Hard Copy and CD--and, a
**1972 Parts Catalog--Reprint. Also, a
**1972 "Crash" Catalog--Reprint...which I don't think I'm going to need for this SE!!
SO I'M THINKING ALL I REALLY NEED TO SPEND ANY MONEY ON (that I'm aware of right now) is:
**One Crank Lever (or maybe just knob) for the passenger front window (Oh Yoo-Hoo...is there a Junkyard Dawg in the house?)...
**Some Rust Issue Repairs (If I don't do it myself) before I have the Vinyl Top installed...
**POSSIBLY Motor Repair Parts (could be anything from a lifter, a pushrod, a connecting rod...all the way up to a Complete Overhaul Kit...no big deal!!)
And that's pretty much it!!
I must say this: IN ADDITION TO CHARGER FEVER, I BLAME MIKE (mikesbbody)!!
If it weren't for his post in this section (72 Sport Top), a week ago, I would have never spent the money!!

...You owe me 3400 dollars, Mike!!
Cashiers Check, PayPal, or Money Order is my usual preference, but since it's you, I'll take a Personal Check!
Okay, back to the drags....all the Brackets and Eliminations are done, and it's time for the Finals....
I'm probably heading down for the "new" addition to my Charger stable tomorrow....it's about 25 miles from where I bought the Motorhome...about 2 hours from here...no shipping costs (YAY!), other than diesel fuel and car trailer rental.
Jeez, now I'll have to take a picture of the -ends of both Chargers in the garage...just like my hero Bobby!! ;D

[NOW WHAT THE HECK AM I GOING TO NAME THIS ONE?]
Here's the Ebay link, if you want to read about it, (and see a couple of pics of the "rust issues")....
