... Only problem is that "Petty Blue" is EB3 for all 72-4. Sorry to break it to ya. EB1 is kind of "Baby Blue" - maybe Cradle Robber would be more appropriate Boy, I sure hate to do this to you, Doc...especially in lieu of all you've done for me...but: My 440 car is HB1 which is Light Blue for Dodge or Blue Sky for Plymouth/Chrysler There is no EB1 that I could locate.C37D is Corporate Blue for Dodge & Petty Blue for Plymouth/ChryslerThere is no Petty Blue code for Dodge that I could locate.THE REST OF THE BLUES ARE:EB3-Light Blue for Dodge (again), or Ice Blue for Plymouth/Chrysler EB5-Bright Blue AND Blue Fire for Plymouth/Chrysler only EB7-Medium Blue for Dodge & Jamaica Blue for Plymouth/Chrysler GB2-Glacier Blue (unknown if for all) GB5-Bright Blue for Dodge & True Blue for Plymouth/Chrysler GB7-Evening Blue (unknown if for all) GB9-Midnight Blue (unknown if for all) J89-Dark Blue for Dodge & Royal Blue for Plymouth/Chrysler KB1-Powder Blue (unknown if for all) KB5-Lucerne Blue (unknown if for all) KB8-Starlight Blue (unknown if for all) Paul, I took this all off of the chart on Page 29 ("1970-1974 EXTERIOR PAINT CODES") of my 1969-1974 Mopar Broadcast [Build] Sheet Decoder Manual, (A,B,C,E-Bodies and Imperial) written by Jake Hare. I hope someone can prove it wrong on the Petty Blue for a Dodge Code, because that wouldn't be much of a tribute to him if "Petty Blue" was only found on Plymouth/Chryslers!! I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but he DID drive a DODGE Charger, didn't he? I got a kick out of the "Cradle Robber" though....maybe Cradle Snatcher... or just "Snatcher"...or just "Snatch" for short...hmmm. Keep those ideas coming, though...I appreciate it!! Jer.

Dude, I thought we already settled on a new name for the blue car...based on the little blue shag friend you found in the trunk! Jer, you'd be totally stylin' in this while cruisin' down the road! Man, you'd look good in that coat anytime...not just at the wheel of the Blue Chinchilla. In the motorhome, at the drag races, heck, even doing PI work under cover. The Blue Chinchilla Rides Again! Awhr-Hawr-Hawr-Hawr!! Not in THIS lifetime, Dave! While I do appreciate the efforts you went through, what with the modeling and everything.... It just ain't a gonna happen, buddy!! What would I call it for short, Dave?... "Chinch"

Exactly! I think that is their short name. You might even be able to buy a franchise of this business, and write off the expense of restoring your blue car as business advertising! ;D bluemoonchinchillas.tripod.com/

Sorry Jer, I meant HB1. That was the original colour of my 73 car too. But, now it's Petty Blue, much more neon and darker shade of blue. I've got pics in the Member's section. I don't mind being corrected, I am by no means an expert on our cars But, after a few discussions on dc.com, I found the codes for Petty Blue for PPG. It was never really called that by Mopar - due to copyright from Petty Enterprises, and King Richard would not share the mixture secret... He drove a Charger from 71 - 74, I think. Before that it was Plymouth & Phord for 2 seasons. The names for "Petty Blue" from Mopar in 73 are as follows: Basin Street Blue (Plymouth B3), Blue Streak (Dodge B3), Corporate Blue. I tried cross referencing all of those names and EB3/HB3/B3 paint codes at my local PPG dealer, with no luck. They couldn't find it. I gave them the old ditzler numbers 2423, and - Bingo! That's what I sprayed on my car.

jer, I think you got a great deal funny how i asked about the roof then you ended up buying it! good luck and once again great deal! Thanks Mike, I think so too! I'll always think of him as "mike's b-body"!! (Not really!) I've been playing with him SECRETLY since I got him home...I say secretly because I thought Mrs. Jer ("The Bride") was going to go through the roof--which I thoroughly deserved), but all she said was, "Great car, Jer...now, please don't work on either Shadowfax II or III until you get finished moving us in, okay?." #FingersInEars# ("Yes, Dear") #Thinking#...Fortunately she sleeps days, so I make a couple of runs to storage, grab a few boxes and pieces of furniture, come home and put some of it away (and spread the rest around so it's REALLY obvious), then by the time she gets up...HEY, it looks like I"ve put in a full day!! I whip something up for dinner real quick (I'm the Chef here, because I love to cook and she can't), grab a quick bite with her, then ease her on out the door about 6:30 ("Have a good day day at work, honey,...don't work too hard") #WaveHi#... and then... VOILA!... I get to spend til 1 or 2 in the morning working on the SE(s)!! Doesn't leave much time for climbing onboard the forum, but it's a GREAT routine for me (Hey!, I'm retired, okay?), and I will probably keep it up until I get the rest of our belongings in here and the house all set up... Or both the Chargers restored... WHICHEVER COMES FIRST!!
