Just bought a rear spoiler from CJ Pony Parts, Part #RS-2, as suggested on this board. The pedestal-to-pedestal (center) dimension on this wing is 33 and 1/4 inches. The center-to-center dimension on our wing mounting "pads" is approximately 36". Anybody used the RS-2?

where'd you find that thread?
It does kinda look like a mopar go wing, but you never really can tell. I pesonally don't think I'd order mopar parts from a website/store that looks all Mustang.

I drilled the location in my trunk lid where the original would be mounted and only ground out the holes a little. Can you swap them out for the RS1 or did they ship it? They will also be at Carlisle for the spring fling. www.cjponyparts.com/spoiler-rear-complete-1969-1970/p/RS1/

The Mustang spoiler is similar to a 1970 GO wing.
The 71 spoiler is a GULL wing.
If compared side to side, or viewed on a cars, I think they look quite different.
It all depends on personal taste....whether you are looking for a correct "71 look" I prefer the 71 GULL wing, which is unfortunately much more expensive.

To be honest, I've never been able to tell Go from Gull...so I guess I don't have an opinion on which looks better.

I stand corrected. If the RS2 is in fact the one I purchased then it should just about mount in the same holes in the deck where the origianl pedistals go. How long is yours tip to tip? Thanks for finding that thread.

Thanks for the response, Bob. My RS-2, tip-to-tip, is 58 & 3/4". I'm fine with that. However, the pedestal-to-pedestal measurement of 33 & 1/4" won't even get with the "pad" area - needs to be 35 & 1/2" to 36". I'm going to contact CJ Pony Parts tomorrow and ask them for the pedestal dimensions on the RS-1. If that's the one we need, I'll see if they'll exchange with me. BTW, the RS-1 is on sale. Will post outcome.

Will post outcome. Since I live about an hour and a half away I picked mine up at the store. As wild as it may sound, I do believe I ordered the RS2, not knowing the exact dimensions, but they gave me a RS1 by mistake which worked out in my favor. If you notice the feedback on the RS1 at the site, I left that comment last evening for other Mopar people to read, www.cjponyparts.com/spoiler-rear-complete-1969-1970/p/RS1/I'm glad you brought this to light but sad that you had ordered what you thought was the right one but was not. Just went out double checked my measurements, 35 1/2" center pedestal to center pedestal and 58" long. Keep us posted please. Ps., I updated the thread with the correct number. Bob
