If your not using a spacer plate or modified air cleaner I believe it will fit. Some of the other better versed gear heads here may know for sure.

Without a spacer, it should. But it also depends on what size and style air clearner.... If you run one to tall with a flat base, may not work. But if you use a drop base (make sure that it clears the linkages on the choke assembly, I had one kit and make it stick wide open therefor no choke), you can run a taller air cleaner....

Drop base or aftermarket low profile air cleaner with the flat hood.

On my '71 with a 400, Edelbrock Performer, and Thermoquad, everything fit until I went to the track. When the engine torqued over on launch, the wingnut hit the underside of the hood and made a little dent. I replaced the wingnut with a hexnut and it was fine, but the damage was already done.

Thanks guys I'm using my stock air cleaner with a 2.5" element. I placed the hood on without the hinges just to see if it would hit the cleaner and it does. I think I'll try a 2" element. A drop base I don't know how it would work with demon carb.

Check out ebay for those NASCAR drop bases.

As I had said, I had a drop base on mine, I just had to do a slight bending around the choke linkage for it to move correctly.... I had the air filter assembly on a holley before w/o a problem, just a very minor clearance issue that's easily fixed with a pair of pliers in my case....

Do y'all know if they make a drop base for the MP air cleaner? Since I purchased a set of the Black MP valve covers, I would like to have the matching breather. From the catalog description it uses a 12-3/4" element.

Just find an air cleaner that takes the same diameter filter as yours. I bought an air cleaner on ebay, then just switched bases and resold the parts I didn't need. You can get wrinkle black paint at auto parts store to make the new base match.
