OK well I want too see pics of your cars and the appraisals you've gotten to fix the body work and paint for your cars OK. I want and need to get a good idea of what to charge and see what others are charging. Keep in mind I already know about what I am going to charge and for what and why I am a better choice. I am only willing to take on one car at a time is why, That means your car is being worked on continuously till completed.
I do not do retirement jobs so no dropping off cars and saying take your time with it. I have no space for it. I am trying to clean out the yard as it is.

Fugure 10 Grand for a decent show quality paint job these days, stripping, getting everything straight and paint. Add about $100 per hour for extra bodywork like panel replacement.

Yeah, for the Detroit area I'd say that's about right. True show car, $10k. A good cruiser, $5k, or maybe less if you "know somebody", and I've seen some of these come out damn near as nice as a show car. And that assumes no MAJOR body work or rust repairs.

Good Lord, this can go everywhere...
Panel repairs, panel replacement, bondo versus lead (yeah, I know one guy that will still do it for a price) versus all metal.
Show paint on a very straight body, including disassembly and reassembly of body (interior, windows, etc are already removed), $10K is about right.
Driver? Doing jams or not? Complete paint? Already disassembled? Too many options.
If a guy has a reputation for show work and one at a time care, he will stay busy at that number... but he also better turn more than 2 or 3 annually, or keep his day job.

you can get a good quality job down here for about $3K and thats including a tipical light to medium body job ( dents, some rust ) , not only paint job. If maybe JUST a paint job could it be half of that.
That's on official money exhange... unofficial exchange rate maybe around 30-40% less.
that doens't include any blasting method. That doesn't exist here. maybe some very special body shop, but definitelly is not a traditional/common service. In fact 70% of ppl doesn't know whats that

Bryndon The question was about for just a paint job with minor dents no panel replacment no dent repair just minor dings and maybee trunk and jamb work nothing really in depth.
Sounds like youve seen one or two projects threw to the end?
By the way I plan to keep my day job I am not that good

Hopefully looking at under $4,000.00 for mine. Body stripped of paint, me buying the parts. Then the $4,000.00 is for them putting on new panels, much dent repair, vinyl top, etc. and paint.

Sounds like youve seen one or two projects threw to the end? By the way I plan to keep my day job I am not that good I'm working 14 projects currently, mostly off road stuff (pretty paint isn't usually my bag). But, I've been around long enough to have seen every quote under the sun. Seen shops that ask the right questions, shops that assume what you want, shops that only do it their way... you know what I mean. For me a good driver paint job is fine, masked jambs and reshoot the same color. For others... I've seen $30,000 paint jobs on $300,000 cars. Also seen $5,000 paint jobs on $3,000 cars. Depends what a guy is after and you have to know what you want and ask the right questions.
