Since the car season is winding down I thought I would clean up a few parts for this winters projects yesterday. One of the items I'd like to install (actually re-install) is the cruise on the 73. It was in the trunk when I bought it. I have been conversing with a member who has sent me some valuable info and pics. However he doesn't recognise this bracket and neither do I. Now, let me state that is may not be a cruise control piece. It was in the box that had the old compressor in it along with the cruise pieces (servo brackets etc.). In fact it may have nothing to do with either. BUT, I usually label parts if the are not together with their counter-parts. I do not remember removing this however. Clearly what ever it is, it is not being used right now. Wire wheeled and primed, it was black and loaded with grease. Anyone recognise it? 73 Charger SE 400 HP with A/C.

Huh...well, cruise control servo was going to be my guess. So I'm out.

Hmmm...scanning my photo archive, hoping to come up with something that would help, and not finding much. I did find this photo... ...with the caption "cruise control brackets E-body & 71 72 B body on the left 73-74 B-body in the center 68-70 B-body on the right". It's not quite like any of these.

Interesting, because here is the servo I have. Bracket looks as if it is mounts on the side of the inner fender. (one stud is broken off)

Ha! That's great. So much for my "reference" photo!

nothing I can think of
correct bracket for 73/74 is the one what Dave shows, and gets an extra bracket underneath the inner fender with studs, hold by lock washers in place and servo bracket is attached with nuts. Earliers used selftaping bolts straight attached to inner fender

The curved section of this one looks too small for cruise control. Also, those two studs (not the long threaded ones...the other two short smooth ones...almost like rivets)...don't know what those are for.
It's a stumper Bob. If there's a prize, I'm not winning it.

I think I got it finally. It's an exhaust hanger bracket. The rivet ends go through the rubber part. The more pitted side goes up and the amount of pits suggest it was under the car. The studs go through a bracket on the body. Don't think its for a B body originally.
