Here is another one up here in SE Michigan. Seen it last year. Pulled out of a parking lot and saw it up ahead. Mashed the go pedal to pull along side to wave then traffic pushed me back before I could get my phone out. Couldn't get any closer before he took the exit. Red w/black top, door & tail light louvers, decklid blackout. Didn't see if it had the bulge hood. (And yes, I'm still driving around w/o the hood on!)

Clears things right up, doesn't it? By the way, I should have mentioned that the 340, as in my car, was specific to the Rallye in 1972. So while Chargers came with everything from the 225 slant 6 on up, if you wanted a 340, it HAD TO BE a Rallye. That was not true of any other engine.

Thanks DynoDave! So we're talking sway bars and an appearance package, for sure. Are the sway bars the same ones as the 71 R/T?
I did not know there was an SE in 72, with different quarter windows! Did that exist in 71 as well?
What is the difference between a "Charger" and "Charger coupe?"
Where does "Coronet Charger" fit into this madness?

So we're talking sway bars and an appearance package, for sure. Are the sway bars the same ones as the 71 R/T? I couldn't swear to it, but I would not be surprised. I don't think they were "tuning" the handling packages back then from model to model. You either had it, or did not.But I could be wrong. I did not know there was an SE in 72, with different quarter windows! Did that exist in 71 as well? Yes and No. Yes, there was an SE package in '71. But not with that unique squared off quarter window. What is the difference between a "Charger" and "Charger coupe?" The Coupe has a fixed rear window. Mine is a coupe. Cheaper. Where does "Coronet Charger" fit into this madness? There is no Coronet Charger. But in these years, the Coronet was on the same B-body platform, so they often shared a sale brochure.

Yes and No. Yes, there was an SE package in '71. But not with that unique squared off quarter window. They sure tried a lot of different things with the quarter window! The Coupe has a fixed rear window. Mine is a coupe. Cheaper. That's all? By rear window you mean the quarter windows, right? It's hard to believe whether those tiny little quarter windows roll down or not is enough to differentiate between two model types. There is no Coronet Charger. But in these years, the Coronet was on the same B-body platform, so they often shared a sale brochure. Ah, I see. The owner's manual is labelled as "Coronet Charger" but what it means is "Coronet and Charger." For the last twenty years I thought "Coronet Charger" was meant to distinguish between a low-end 318/auto/stripper car and a mid range or higher car.

Nope, just a shared publication, because so many of the controls are the same among the B-bodies.

Here's the unusual floral pattern interior on my 73' Rallye. The trim code for it says "H6XW" Trim-High, Vinyl bucket seats Black/White . I found the build sheet under the drivers seat carpet, the seat is bolted down over it. Also just discovered it's a matching numbers engine !!

I'm new to the forum and just want to say hello. I have a '72 Rallye, (WH23U). I purchased it in April of 1978. It was last on the road in 1989. It is currently being completely redone. I've attached two pictures, one shows how bad of shape the car was in just before heading for restoration and the second is the rendering of what it will look like when completed.
